Looks to me that the green section is on the same level as the metal rail above the wall. Is metal rail a homerun or in play?

Xander has really come down too. He's still over .300 but it's been in decline for a long while.
Figured they’d bring in Whitlock now, which would then render him unavailable for the next 11 days
I've always liked Darwinzon and always have a soft spot for guys that come up from the farm, but come on. This HAS to be the final straw for this guy. Any random dude from Portland's bullpen would be better than he has been. He needs to go, and we bring the next man up, immediately.
I'm also starting to lose hope for this season. I mean I usually am in the "never give up until they are mathematically eliminated, and maybe not even then" camp, but my hopes that this team would get healthy and start to play better are really starting to disappear. Days keep coming off the calendar and we keep sucking.

Bloom should fire himself, he built this roster. Do we believe that they will spend the money to improve this team in the offseason or will he continue to pick up players off the scrap heap and hope they can recapture what they were in the past.
If they demote Darwinzon, the only available reliever on the 40-man is Ort, who they can’t even call up without an injury. So they are kind of stuck.

Why do I have the feeling that this is his last game in a Red Sox uniform? They've most likely given up on him, so might as well get some mileage out of him before they cut him.
We’re all but guaranteed to go the rest of the series without requiring the good relievers at all. That is how the baseball gods work.
Some of the whining on pitching feels irrelevant when they were spotted 2 runs on some BABIP flukiness, then did almost jack all actual offense the whole game. Again.
X and JD putting up largely uncompetitive at bats against a LHP all night is pretty rough.
He didn't really build this current roster though. And yes, there's 0 reason to think they won't spend money this offseason.
What is relevant is that they tied the game 3-3 heading into the bottom of the 7th. Very winnable game at that point.
I see what you mean — I found a wider angle that does illustrate the challenge. If that metal rail is a continuation of the wall — and it looks like it is — I’d say it’s definitely in play. When the metal rail ends and the wall has no rail above it at the bullpen, then the wall height is just lower.
There’s more evidence that he’s willing to spend money than the opposite. Pretty odd take to think they are suddenly going to be a cheap team.

If anything they've now spent too much this year, in a lost season with three QO-eligible players the potential draft pick compensation is likely to be lower.

That’s quite a take. Dombrowski has been gone for three years, and was in charge when exactly two players in todays lineup (JD and Duran), and none of the pitchers were acquired.

Darwinzon is a tragic misstep in middle relief evolution. His soul was snatched as soon a Stanton left earth on him for the grand slam late last year. Frankly, I was a little surprised they didn't cut ties with him altogether in the off-season. I mean, he walks the house, home run prone and I seem to remember him with much more velo than this. I mean, Jason Castro crushed him in the ALCS for god's sake.
