Since these idiots will never tell you, NY has Holder and Tarpley left in the pen, plus Ottavino.

Ha, that's an amazing stat, the last time NY blew a 7 run lead was the final game in 2011 to TB that knocked BOS out of the playoffs.

I like Mendoza but the ARod and Matty V inanity has got to go. Sure wish we could get the Statcast booth with Petriello they did for the NL WC game every Sunday. This is just unacceptable in 2019, feels like 1999 with this quality level (or lack thereof) of analysis.

DJ replaces Gleyber at 2B, has Gleyber played all four games? He could use a couple innings off.

Gio is still in, I don't think Gleyber has pulled anything, just giving him a few innings and getting the DJ upgrade on D.

Ah, if my memory serves DiMaggio had a massive home run off a looping curve, first game in 1947, at Fenway Park.

You talk about MVPs not to have other accolades, I say Chipper Jones 1999. Not an All-Star, yet took home the hardware.

And yeah, this narrative is dumb, Jon is right, it’s Trout. By a massive landslide.

Wow, Cessa. He is at 42 pitches, Ottavino or Holder now in the 9th depending on if NY can score here or not.

You could stick with Cessa too, he has a 55 and a 50 pitch outing the last couple of weeks, but if Ottavino is available, I would just let him start the inning.

Tend to agree based upon the short term schedule. If the West Coast trip with Oakland and LA that’s eventually due up were the next games, I might think otherwise to try to max my quantity of high lev guys for tougher opponents.

Yowch, Betts, that was impressive.

Ottavino warming, not sure why you wouldn't just go with him and have Green behind him if needed. Green does not have much experience pitching back to back games, maybe this is a test.

With a save tonight, Green can become the first Yankee with multiple saves and 9+ starts in the same season since Ramiro Mendoza in 1997.

She has to stop constantly talking about 'dudes' who, btw it is highly questionable that we get any of them 'back'
Yeah, not sure why you keep saying that, but we will see. Severino starts throwing from a mound this week.

“That’s a pretty good trade, even though it’s not.” There’s my microcosm booth comment tonight. Atrocious.
There's just so much factually incorrect info, it's amazing to me they can't find better people for the highest profile baseball announcing gig.

Nice work showing that guy in the shirt that essentially derides sucking cock. Impressive new nadir. Spoilered below for evidence, but nobody should have to see this asshole unwillingly.

On to Baltimore. Very satisfying to see so many of the pen arms rested as of right now. Would like to see this Happ the rest of the way.

EE, out of my head, thank you. :)

It doesn't look like it will matter so much currently, but these teams have 4 games left against each other, a series in Fenway in early September, but what's noteworthy is that just like this series, NY gets the day off before it starts while this time BOS has a three game series against the bludgeoning Twins right before.

City of Baltimore on lockdown as Gleyber Torres returns to continue his assault on Orioles pitching.
Not so fast:

"Gleyber Torres has "a core issue" and went to the hospital for tests, Aaron Boone says."

At 72-39, this is the second best record NY has had at this point since 1961 (1998 they were 82-29, heh).

On the plus side, Tampa has won six in a row and are still eight games back. That has got to be frustrating.

TB has a super easy schedule the next three weeks, 19 games against TOR (3), SEA (6), SD (3), DET (3) and BAL (4).
