This team should just forfeit the rest of the year and save everyone the trouble

can't even use the new dad excuse... Happ is pitching just fine.

this is the worst week in a long time for the Red Sox.

Last year was awesome. 2004, 2007, 2013, and 2018 made all my dreams come true and then some.

I have better things to do than watch this year's team. Hope we get a good draft pick.

Where's Nunez to come in and pitch when you need him? He was good for something.

I like even after David finally came through last year, the comments are right back to I wish you opted out, and trying to correlate this period of suck to Eck, etc.

The whole "he doesn't care" or "he doesn't try" stuff is tiresome. These guys are professionals. NOBODY wants to get their ass kicked like this. They have pride and they're not NOT trying. They're just...sucking. And I have no idea why.

They won 119 games last year and they tried to coast in this year, thinking that everyone would lay down. Other teams got better in the offseason and yes at the trade deadline.

So you're REALLY gonna argue that the Sox are losing because they're not trying?

The Red Sox will pay David Price $32 million in each of the next three seasons.

Bi-Coastal, for the time being
How is it the dumbest post of the night? I didn't say the events were correlated, but the starts have all been mediocre to bad.
“He just doesn’t care” is idiotic. Price cut paternity leave short to come back and start for a losing team tonight. Price is getting rocked, and I don’t find him a very appealing person, but tell me how you have divined he doesn’t care.

Or, better, don’t.

He stepped up for a month and will be paid for 7 years of mediocrity. I am glad you think he is worth it
He won us a WS. That's the very definition of worth it no matter what happens. Any complaints regarding money should be directed at Pablo.

Price was a huge part of a World Series win and for that he’ll always be the man. But what’s going on with him (and the rest of the pitchers) is truly baffling.

if I'm Cora I take out all the regulars you can right now. if you're going to get back in it, the next two weeks offer a chance to do so (two easy homestands surrounding Cleveland), so give the regulars a half-day off with no full day off coming until next Thursday.

they're still 59-55. it's not impossible. it's just cratering this week. let's see what happens against lighter competition.

And this is why winning those three games couldn't have come at a worse time. Should have been sellers, decided to try to be buyers, failed, and now all the chickens are coming home to roost.

Awful, awful week. Dombrowski's contract will be renewed but shouldn't be. It's going to be a tough road ahead. I don't envy them for the decisions to be made. At least they probably don't have to worry about JDM opting out now. That might help in locking up Mookie long term: a core of those two and Bogaerts and Devers is formidable. If Chavis can stick at 1B and take the next step as a hitter, they'll be solid 1-5.

They only have three bench players I think. Can't "take out all the regulars".

I don't see any reason to be pessimistic about the future, but I would like to know what the fuck is going on right now. I'd rather not go through another chicken and beer shitstorm.

where I was last at
there is no fucking way in the world a team with an ounce of pride, and with as much talent as they have, would shit on themselves for now 8-straight games.

this is disgraceful

Put the starting rotation in the field and see how they like standing around while a pitcher gets shelled.

Awful, awful week. Dombrowski's contract will be renewed but shouldn't be.
Dombrowski's record with the Red Sox, signing on after the Sox won just 78 games in 2015:

2016: 93 wins, 1st place
2017: 93 wins, 1st place (first time ever with B2B division titles)
2018: 108 wins, 1st place, WS title
2019: disappointing season

You cannot possibly think of firing a guy with that track record over 4 years. We'd ALL take those four years if every four years went in this cycle, we'd all kill for that.
