GCL Sox go back to the top of the standings with a 4-2 victory over the Twins.

Edilson Batista yielded three hits in four scorless innings. Connor Berry made his professional debut with one scoreless frame; walking one and striking out one. Robbie Baker relinquished two runs on four hits and a walk over two innings; whiffing a pair. Eddy Reynoso walked two and struck out two in 1 2/3 frames. Luis Rivero came in with two runners on and got Victor Tademo to fly out to end the ball game.

Ricardo Cubillan recorded two singles in four contests. Chad Hardy hit a double and drew a walk in four forays. Josh Tobias thumped a single, took a free pass, and stole a base in five jaunts. Juan Hernandez and Carlos Pulido each procured a single in four plate appearances; Hernandez with a swipe of second. Juan Carlos Abreu crushed a triple in five attempts. Brandon Howlett received two bases on balls (one intentional) in five battles. Jecorrah Arnold was hit by a pitch in four junkets. Nicholas Northcut notched a walk in five ventures.

The Red Sox and Twins are tied on top of the GCL South with identical 23-16 records with the Rays just one game back. The O's are pretending to be Baltimore with the worst record in the league at 10-29.

Bryan Lucas allowed a single and a balk in two frames; whiffing a pair. Carlos Velez was victimized for two unearned runs on four singles, a walk, and two wild pitches in four innings; striking out an octet. Richardson Jimenez yielded one single and whiffed a trio in three frames.

Andres Gari golfed two singles and took a walk in four appearances; he was also picked off third. Gregorio Custodio chipped two singles in three chances after replacing Luis Hernandez who made an out in his only try. Ronaldo Pulgar procured two singles in three plate appearances. Nelfy Abreu notched a pair of singles and a pair of stolen bases in four forays. Kleiber Rodriguez and Yulis Hernandez each had one hit in four treks; Hernandez with a double. Kelvin Sanchez surrendered two runs (one earned) on two hits, one walk, one hit by pitch, and three wild pitches over five frames; whiffing an octet. Alejandro Crisostomo walked three and struck out two in two innings and two batters. Luis Colmenares whiffed a trio in two perfect frames.

Wilker Vargas whipped two singles and walked once in four ventures. Jesus Maita (or so I assume since the boxscore says Angel Maita and he can't play in two games for two teams at the same time*) managed a single and a double in four matchups. Carlos Sanchez, Fabian Andrade, Ceddanne Rafaela, and Leonel Jimenez each collected a single and a base on balls in four forays; Andrade and Sanchez with a stolen base. Gilberto Jimenez golfed a single and was hit by a pitch in five jaunts. Breiner Licona lined a single and a sacrifice fly in five battles. Jose Navas notched a single in five junkets.

Durbin Feltman was a bit wild in his Salem debut, walking two and uncorking a wild pitch while whiffing a pair in the sixth. Hunter Smith surrendered an unearned run on two hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings.

Michael Osinski, Jake Romanski, and Chris Madera each managed one hit in three opportunities; Madera and Osinski with doubles. Jerry Downs, C.J. Chatham, and Brett Netzer each notched one hit in four jaunts; Netzer knocking a ball over the wall. Ryan Scott and Jagger Rusconi each suffered three subpar sessions; Rusconi with the sombrero.
