The Oakland A’s are pretty good. We don’t see them often but what we do see is impressive. Great infield defense. Timely hitting, with power. Solid pitching.
Today’s 1:05 p.m. game is a rematch of Aug. 20 when Homer Bailey got the best of Domingo German, who yielded 5 runs in 5.1 innings.
Oakland has won four straight over NY. Time for the Yankees to stop playing whipping boy for the A’s.

It's one of those rare times when the Yankees are playing whipping boy to the A's..... and even rarer times when Sox fans should be pulling for the Yankees to beat them. Crazy world man.

Get your act together, Yankees. You’re playing a bunch of small market, shitty stadium, no fans Moneyball chumps who just roll out a series of slightly above average pitchers against you night after night. You’ve lost 4 in a row to these pretenders. This nonsense has to stop now.

Thanks.

Missed most of last night taking a ride thru the Siemens CT at the local hospital as they confirmed my serious discomfit of the past week was, indeed, my first experience with diverticulitis, which is, in fact, the best outcome really... The evening was nowhere near as painful as was the game. CC has been performing admirably on sheer will and fumes, but there is no such thing as a useful pitcher who only has 1.5 legs, arms ? sure... just ask Jim Abbott ... but legs...

Boone lectures German for nibbling with 2 outs in 5th. Pretty stern conversation. German retires Chapman on a comebacker. This is Boone’s team.

I don't have the sound on, so I don't know what the announcers said, but after Boone strode back to the dugout, German threw strike after strike outside of the zone and the ump called them, leading Chapman to reach out for the one that got him. So, maybe that's what he told him: the ump is giving you those, you don't have to throw strikes there.

Chapman took a called strike one, swung at strike two. Ball one. Weak grounder to pitcher on fourth pitch.

Yeah. Ump finally gives the kid what he deserved. And then Didi makes a sweet play on the run to get out of the inning.

That Chapman double looked foul, can you challenge fair/foul line calls?

NY has had to use their best six relief pitchers to get through four innings somehow, no idea who is next if they don't score here. Gearrin again? YIKES if so.
