People who were worried about Sandlin definitely seem rational based on recent results...

Today he didn't make it to the 3rd inning...

2 IP, 2 ER, 4 hits, 1 bb, 1 hbp, 0 k, 41 pitches (24 strikes)

The Kwiat Assassin came in for the 3rd to try to pick up another Kwin for @The Gray Eagle down 2-1.

I'm not going to have a lot of time to work on rankings this month. & I'm going to try to drop them by Monday. Should be some interesting decisions.

I feel bad about the regular Reguillo shade I drop... the good news is he doesn't turn 21 until September.

The bad news?

'22 - DSL 5.57 ERA (age 18)
'23 - FCL 5.21 ERA (age 19)
'24 - FCL 6.75 ERA (age 20)
'24 - A-Ball 5.63 ERA (age 20)

Natty got through the 9th. On to extras, 6-6.

He's been pretty astounding for an 18 year old - 6 of his 7 outings in Salem have been outstanding and he's been unhittable all year there and in the FCL. This doesn't jive with his Sox Prospects report of a hittable fastball and only one other pitch so something must've changed for the better.

Looking forward to your prospect ranking JM3 and thanks for putting it together. Since he's been a topic tonight, it will be very interesting to see where Valera ranks. We all love SP but their dated reviews and sometimes weird rankings are a bit frustrating at times.

In their defense they've been praising Valera since early in the season. He got a big fastball bump this off season.

But I tend to agree on some of the staleness & their rankings often annoyed me. It's why I started doing rankings to begin with (plus I got attached to much more than 60). Thx!

The other crazy thing about Valera is he doesn't even turn 19 until May.
