After a long layoff it's hard to maintain your timing. Impressively, Marwin's timing looks exactly the same as before.

Ugh. That was a disappointing development. I don't suppose X could have made it home on JD's "hit?" (I wasn't looking, didn't see how deep it went; I think of the OF at Detroit as huge.)
He really couldn't have. It was just a flare over the infielders

Pedroia hit .191 inn his first 89 AB. Duran's had fewer than 50 AB. I know Pedroia with 15 years ago, but maybe that's a good yardstick for minimum number?
Big difference is Pedroia was always a contact hitter even during that .190 year. Duran is K'ing nearly 40% of the time.
