Watch a couple go by right in the zone and swing at one 60 feet in the dirt. Nice AB and epitome of the Sox season.

Right now you're thinking "Maybe they can score 2 in the 9th" when after the bottom of the 8th, it'll be more like 7.

I think a fairer assessment is that he hasn't been able to get the team back on track. He did an amazing job last year, but there were no real lasting streaks or prolonged adversity.
I agree 100 pct

Big offseason for many of the players as well as the staff and FO

There is just as much information that would say that Cora is a mediocre one who had one good year. Farrell actually accomplished things that even St Tito didn't. But he didn't "sound smart."
Wrong. Farrell routinely managed his bullpen poorly. He seemed to spurn analytics (benching Nava for Gomes in the WS comes to mind). He managed to somehow let Workman hit in the WS, leading me to believe he didn’t actually know how a double switch works. The guy was a fucking dunce . Cora is demonstrably better.

If you think about it, this is the first real adversity Cora has faced as a coach anywhere. He wins in Houston his first year as bench coach, then last year happens. This is his first real test as a coach.

Well said

I was guilty of saying that Farrell didn’t seem that sharp...but we don’t even need to rely on such impressions (which could be wrong)...he made plenty of moves that had us scratching our heads

Bob's burger has been a Farrell white knight for a while. Predictable that he would bash Cora first chance he gets. Farrell was a loser.

Factually, there is nothing showing he is remotely, much less demonstrably better. Cora was one pitch away from losing every Kimbrel appearance last post-season by leaving him in so stubbornly.

And--Colten Brewer in high leverage--great bullpen management, genius.

Getting swept in back to back series by the Rays and the Yankees sucks. Before you say that the Yanks haven't swept the Sox yet, have you seen Price's starts since the All Star Break?

This week is as an embarrassing performance by the Red Sox in recent memory. Horrific and no damn team meeting helps. Terrible pitching from the starters places too much stress on an ordinary bullpen. An erratic offense can't be counted on all the time. Piss poor.

Fuck the players if they are using the trade deadline inaction as an excuse to quit on the season.
I agree. unfortunately there is some smoke that some of them have been affected by it (Mookie's answer on the radio yesterday or today, some other sources saying players were expecting a move).

Thank goodness the Sox didnt trade for some "help", and no I think this dive has nothing to do with not getting help.

Gonna close the locker room again tonight Alex? Maybe another little get together will help?
