To keep it simple and sweet, cool to see the players traded for one another square off. Today’s redemption slot goes to Paxton and his first inning struggles. These I command to go away instantly.

Here’s to an easy win and sweep. I guarantee it.

These match-ups are always fun. It's almost like a loss for either team makes it feel like you lost the trade.

Tanaka's awesomeness last night really helped NY going into the weekend's rematch against the A's, now all of their good relievers get at least 2 out of 3 days off going into that series and any who don't pitch today have three straight days off.

Maybin back, Didi sits again, Wade gets a rare start.

LeMahieu 2B
Judge RF
Gleyber DH
Sanchez C
Gardner CF
Urshela 3B
Ford 1B
Maybin LF
Wade SS

Jordan Montgomery starting Friday in Scranton, Severino starting there on Sunday. Whoo hoo!

Houston has elite pitchers and a great lineup. We have seen the Dodgers. So who are the Yankees. Long bombers and strong relievers?

Does it matter ? The reports all continue to be glowing, if everyone comes back the way they are predicting, half the team will be different when the playoffs start anyway
You’re right, of course. Nothing really matters now except getting players ready for October. I’m bored.

On the YES feed, we see a AWS stats commercial every other inning showing a No. 63 for the Yankees stealing a base. Who is he?

Potential home field advantage between the top three teams matters kind of a lot IMO, the race there might push all three over 105 wins.

Scranton is rained out today, so Voit's rehab is officially done, back on Friday.

Sheffield has trouble throwing strikes and putting away guys, he is still pretty young, but he throws a lot of pitches.

Good job by Sheffield getting Judge and Gleyber out on 3-2 pitches, but 61 pitches through 3 to just 12 batters is not ideal.

Do you think the organization will push its players for best record over resting key guys down the stretch?
They've valued rest all season (the only team to not use a reliever three days in a row) and they are going to have a lot more depth to do so. The lineup today might be weaker than any lineup you see for the rest of the season, as guys come back and others are called up.

That was my take on him two years ago. And he still has the same issues. The slider is his only plus pitch, then and now.
He's still very young, though, turned 23 in May. I don't think he has the upside of Giolito, but it's worth noting that Giolito is two years older and was horrendous last season before being dominant this one. In Seattle, he should get every chance to prove himself, harder to get consistent starts on a contender.

Wade really wants to be the speedy utility player who can pinch run and steal bases on the post season roster.

NY has 16 HRs from LH hitters against LH pitchers all season, Ford has 7 and everyone else combined has 9.

The ump (on a borderline 3-2 call) and Didi (a shitty throw trying to complete the DP) not helping Green here.

Green gets through 2 innings at 40 pitches, I guess Cortes Jr is next?

The Oakland series should answer a few more questions we have about this team, the one that is running away with the East

Yanks should soon catch the Twins for most team home runs this season. Nine back before today.
They have played 4 more games though, I don't think they catch them, but both should easily break NY's record from last season.

That doesn't excuse the one in the middle innings.

Forgot we had Gearrin still, heh.

Yeah, I hope he is released soon, too many options better than him.
