We'll have to try to make it out there next Summer & try to time it with a WooSox homestand. Will need Andrew Parker's help figuring out which day YORDANNY will be be pitching.

Mikey's homer is Portland's only run so far & they trail 2-1 in the 8th.

BVB was next with 2 perfect innings with 3 k. Have I done a post about how competent he's been the last couple months? Pretty lame post idea, so probably not, buuuuut...

He started his season in March with 5 shutout innings. Clearly a big time March picture.

Then from April to June:

44.2 IP, 7.25 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, 3.6 bb/9, 8.1 k/9

But July & August:

28.2 IP, 2.51 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 2.5 bb/9, 7.5 k/9

So ummm... yeah... he's still not particularly interesting so I don't know why I did all that... just thought you guys should know.

Old friend Stephen Scott started the 9th with a groundout.

Guerrero struck out the next hitter, before a walk & a game-ending ground out. His fastest pitch of the game was 97.4.

WooSox win 5-4.

Can't help but feel like the big club is in a better spot right now if they had called up Guerrero and Penrod at some point instead of trading for the disasters that were Sims and Garcia. I get 40 man concerns, but you have to let these dudes loose at some point, don't you?

That's a lot of pressure hanging on your first MLB experience. "we aren't trading for the bullpen help this team obviously and desperately needs, we're using you instead, good luck."

After Wehunt, Max Carlson pitched 2 hitless innings, but allowed a run on 2 walks with a strikeout. Zach Fogell pitched a 1-2-3 8th with a strikeout.

So Greenville pitched a 1-hitter, but lost 2-0.

They only had 2 hits of their own.
