That there didn't even seem to be a question of whether or not the game (played tonight by rosters of entirely white / white-passing players for the B's/Lightning game) would proceed is, in my eyes, the definition of white silence. I don't think the NHL necessarily gets a pass, but it's worth noting that the NBA walkout started with a decision by the Bucks players, and in MLB it was the Brewers players.
I don't begrudge anyone for thinking it's fine that the games proceed, but it just seems tone deaf to me. Hockey's usually a great escape for me, but shit like getting mad at Pat Maroon is the furthest thing from my mind right now.
