If you’re still aboard the playoff hopeful train, It’s time to scoreboard watch the Indians. They just lost Jose Ramirez for the year, and we are 6.5 back of them, virtually the same as 6 back of TB/OAK.
Oakland still has 15 games left against DET/KC/SEA. They are the least likely to be caught.

Obviously it's going to be difficult but there's been plenty of crazy runs and collapses we've witnessed over the past 20 years to know it's in the realm of Very Possible but Difficult at this point.
And..... if they're chugging into the WC at full speed (damn the pen has looked great lately....) they could steamroll their deep into the playoffs. Even with a hobbled (or shut down) Chris Sale, the team is dangerous and can beat anyone in a 7 game series. Sale really didn't contribute to last years WS team much, and their other star pitcher was pretty solely responsible for them almost losing.
Ed Rod is looking like an ace...... if Price can get fully healthy, well... he's David Price. Porcello we all know can step up and it'd be a gigantic boon for his pending free agency for him to finish his season with an Eovaldi-'18 like flourish, no?

They’re going to need a 10 game win streak and a 17-2 kind of deal. A metric to monitor on the horizon though is Dever’s outside chance at 400 total bases, which would put him in Gehrig and Hornsby Land, at least on the basis of one campaign. This would look different right now had they not dropped the back-to-back and very winnable games against the Phillies—and if they weren’t such a Sox-ian aberration at home. One of the stranger aspects of the season; to paraphrase John Clare, maybe stranger than all the rest.
Another decent young starting pitcher I’ve never heard of going for the Pads. This one’s a lefty, Joey Lucchesi, from the North End. No, from the Bay Area of NorCal. Offense: do to him what you did to the other two. Brian Johnson is starting.

Sox have come back from three down in the first lots of times, but they will be in too deep a hole at this rate.
