A-Rod, that is the exact opposite of true. HRs are even more important in the postseason when it is harder to group together baserunners against top pitchers. This has been studied quite a bit, please investigate.
The hopeful postseason rotation of Tanaka/Paxton/German/Severino (in some order) looks a lot better than it did a month ago, throw in six closers (the current back 4/Green*/Betances) and two of CC/Cortes/Deivi and aggressive usage of the closers, and you've got yourself a pitching staff.
*Green's season stats are quite bad but that is mostly because of his neo-Blass like first 15 appearances, he was rocking a 16.43 ERA when he got sent to AAA to try to fix things. It took another month or so, but he has been back to his stud self since late May, often in the tough opener role. He has allowed only 13 ERs in his 40 innings since then, 5 of those in that ugly Indians start. He has an amazing 55/8 K/BB ratio in those 40 innings, he has been a top 10 reliever for a full season before (2017), so I'm counting him in the 'closer' category.
