West coast. Sox virtually out of it. 6:21 EST and still no game thread. Yup. We've lost hope. Likely no more than 3 pages here tonight (I rarely if ever post in game threads.... nothing against game threads, I just don't have the time... and I'm not bragging.... I don't like being busy and I don't think being busy is a virtue in itself).
Anyhow.... I'm frustrated with the season but there's been some obvious bright points that I don't need to go into here. Beyond all that stuff though... here's the biggest. We're still in it. And I'm a weird optimist. I'm pissed off, angry and combative pretty much all the time... I think everything is going to pure shit... but I always think somehow we're going to pull this off until it's absolutely beyond possibilities mathmatically done and out. We're not there yet. Remember the Colorado Rockies of '07? The Mets collapse of the same year? Those things happen more often than not... and we don't need either of those things... just put a 5 game win streak together.... have Cleveland, Oakland and Tampa all start losing 3 out of 5 and suddenly we're right in it. I'm actually expecting this to happen.

EDIT- I was going back and forth whether this was game one or game two since the win against KC happened yesterday even though the game was scheduled a while back. I don't know... Mods... I changed it to game two since... feel free to change it back to game one.

Well apparently it's game one of the streak since it has two "L's" in the streak column on MLB.com.
Changing it back again.
I thought @trekfan55 was supposed to start this but who fuckin’ knows. I have ties to SD and always wish they had a better team. Except for this weekend.
Since our last game was a loss to Philly, new game thead starter.

Just watching the other games right now. Is every team wearing black and white? What did I miss?
Yep, the home team unis are particularly stupid, b/c you can't read the special players' nicknames on the back.
By the way, will the guys just sitting in the dugout have to wear these? Because, if so, somebody hide the scissors!

It's the 1950s weekend, and the unis celebrate how games were seen on TV back then.

Also, fans will be allowed to smoke in the stands, RBI will be considered an important stat, and starting pitchers will go all nine innings

The guy you probably mean has lost his swagger (panache?) for stuff like that.

I wish Sale passed out scissors to the whole league! These are ugly!

Anyone in San Diego want a ticket to tonight's game? Message me and I'll send it over.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
I'm certainly having a weird day. I got free tickets to the Marlins game and went for a bit until my companions got tired and wanted to leave. But before that the woman in front of me caught a flyball with her nose - blood everywhere.

What this has to do the game I don't know.
