not indicative of future results. (Two lifetimes ago I spent my time authoring securities for the Amex and Reg A offerings...) Well, they always accuse us of being the corporate Wall Street team and yesterday we were rested, starting our best pitcher and really rolling and.... Anyway, lord only knows what Happ shall do, it's a bright spot that Aaron remembered how to hit home runs, though as Jon pointedly noted, it was anything but his usual HR stroke and it's fruitless at this point to wish Boone would pull starters before it's too late.

Oakland is a tough team and well-put together. I think anyone will be hard-pressed to find a weak spot from SP to BP to lineup to defense. That said, NY had more hits yesterday, 11 to 9, but only 2 runs to show for it. On average, they get 9.3 hits and 5.9 runs per game. Yeah, have to score more runs.

Gardner is dealing with an ingrown toenail but he should be ok soon.

Deivi Garcia moved to the bullpen in AAA, partly to manage innings but probably partly to see if he can help NY there this season. Exciting...

Happ is so bad, really did not see that coming this year after he was so good down the stretch last season.

And I'm pretty sure the drums have been a thing for a long time. There is a pretty big Native American population in Oakland.

I definitely remember them when I went to the season opener there in 2006.

Yeah, it looks like they started a few years before that and have been going ever since:

Verlander is first, he gave up two more today and no other hits in a nine inning 2-1 loss to DET, as Terry mentioned above.

This is another game where if the offense woke up and NY could get into it, the back-end bullpen guys are raring to go.

Maybin is a great story, but his pixie dust seems to be wearing off.

Just DL him.
You need to give him every chance to get it back, he has good velocity for him (I saw at least one 94). Also having five actual SPs (I realize that is a loose definition with current Happ) strengthens the bullpen, that is why Green can come in mid-game like he just did.

Also I should bump the rotation thread because there have been a bunch of important moves/promotions throughout the system, but with Deivi and Chance Adams moved to the Scranton bullpen as of today, this is the AAA rotation you'd be choosing from, Rosa the only one on the 40 man currently.

Nick Nelson
Mike King
Adonis Rosa
Brian Keller
Brody Koerner

If King started pitching like he did last August for Scranton last year (a ridiculous 1.15 ERA in 6 starts), he could make himself a legit possibility very quickly, but he was shut down for most of the year and just got to AAA last week, slowly ramping up.

Bullpen guys, Ben Heller looks like he could help based on his last few AAA outings, but not sure NY can put a 1-2 inning guy on the 40 man. This is also what has been holding back Feyereisen, he has been nails all season in AAA even with the new lively balls but he cannot break through for a shot in NY yet. Of course the last guy I thought this about was Cody Carroll and he turned into a pumpkin the second he got dealt to BAL, so who knows.

It's almost like no Voit, Encarnacion, Stanton or Hicks impacts your lineup at some point. Voit sounds like he will be back a week from now, though, to start the homestand against yes, the A's (such a strange schedule this year for everyone).

Not sure why they stopped working counts, but it sure worked for Didi at least.

Now you can feel better about using the back end guys, two more shots, let's hope Puk is nervous and wild in his first appearance.

Wow, he hit that so hard the OF couldn't handle it and Tauchman got an extra base.

Two impressive lefty on lefty ABs there by Tauchman and Ford, welcome to the bigs AJ.

Playing it like a playoff game, skipping over Soria and right to Hendriks for the five out save attempt. Hendriks threw 13 pitches to close last night, looked impressive and has had an amazing year, stepping in when Treinen blew up.

I don't understand Judge at all. He has to know the slider is coming.

I have no confidence anymore when he's up.

Glad you could be so sure of the next pitch but the previous two strike pitch was 100 right down the pipe with movement. Judge is having his issues but Hendriks is crushing everyone this year.
