Homer Bailey is not a really good pitcher but on occasion he can go 7 innings with 0 ER, which he’s done 3 times this year. So, lets hope that Homer Bailey does not show up tonight.

Sox fans and our sole Indians fan should be rooting for NY in this series too, pretty rare for all of those interests to be aligned.

Ground Zero
I’m pulling my childhood Yankee gear out for this series. I think I have a Guidry jersey here somewhere.

Does German have an inning s limit for 2019?
The latest word is no, he missed three weeks earlier in the season, he is 27 (past the age range where they generally worry about innings jumps), so Cashman said no after his last start.

They are showing few signs of life, but if NY can steal the lead at any point, the back-end guys are all really well rested. This includes not just the back 4 guys but Green also who has not pitched since his shellacking last Thurs to open the Indians series, Loaisiga too, so four days rest for both of them.

Maybin and Tauchman both seeming to come back to earth a bit, this is a time that Clint could maybe make a charge if he was destroying AAA but he has been solid but nothing special.

Started watching live on the 3-1 pitch to Chapman, so if that marks the turning point, you know who to credit. :)

They need innings from Loaisiga here or they start to burn back-end guys, and I could use at least one NY Jonathan reliever to do justice to the name this season.

DP! You are welcome, fellow Jonathan. .

115.9 MPH, his longest of the season and the first one all year he has pulled.

Soria comes back with 2 Ks on Gary and Gio, he can still hit 94 somehow.

Need to get Judge up with the game on the line next inning, come on Gleyber.

Ah well, that Judge shot made the night not a total loss. One more scoreless from Loaisiga would be great too, he needs a solid outing to build from.

Down by 4, Judge is the 5th batter. Let's get him up again and see if he can hit one farther.

2.2 scoreless on 40 pitches for Loaisiga, a couple of DPs, the second started by him on a nice behind the back stab.

The reason I get excited about him is that he clearly has the stuff to succeed and he had the control in the minors (just 11 walks in 88.2 innings covering 2017/2018), so if he stays healthy, I think he will put those together and be an impact guy. Big if obviously...

Heh, the last HR Judge pulled was in last year's wild card against the A's off Rodney, and in fact they just showed it.

Tauchman keeps hope alive, come on DJ.

Damn, he hit that hard.

OK, at least we can take positive things for Judge and Loaisiga out of that, and the bullpen gets another day of rest. Back at it tomorrow...

NY is 7-15 in their last 22 here, would be happy to split the final two and go 1-2 in LA.
