Just checking in from a wedding... I see from espn gamecast that about 4 of Erod’s pitches that were called balls were actually pretty easily strikes. Is this correct?

At what point do you shut down Sale for 2020? This season’s toast anyway so who cares if they finish under .500.

This team is like the princess and the pea. Conditions have to be absolutely perfect for them. A little adversity and they fold like a tent.

At the hospital in the NICU, was gonna check the MLB app to see what was happening. Came here instead.

It’s going well so far it seems.

Gleyber sure looked like he knew exactly what was coming, didn't he? I mean, no-brainer he'll try to get one over for strike one but I would have liked to see a shake off or some extra cycles of signs there, at least. Ah well, they died last night, anyway. Getting swept at home by your WC rival in August is a kind of surrender, anyway. Tonight's just a lingering death rattle. Ugh.

I share your hatred of whoever is behind the plate (doesn't matter who, they all suck, but it's Chad Fairchild) but looking only at Gameday, I see ball 4 to Edwin as the only questionable call. And the called strike on LeMahieu to begin the inning could maybe have been called the other way. ... NESN on-screen zone is a little smaller than the Brooks pitchf/x zone, so what looks like a ball on NESN might really be an actual strike ... Because NESN's gotta NESN.

Not me. The same guys won a year ago. It's on the players. Who would replace him that wouldn't be a downgrade?
Their whole approach to the season was wrong, starting in spring training. The idea was for the starters to be fresh in August and September, instead its falling apart. He shares blame.
