Second HR of the day for Benintendi, in the 10th inning.   Moncada, Chavis, Devers, and Benintendi go a combined 7-16 with 3 2B, 3HR, and 2 BB.

With all that offensive talent, I wish they'd stocked that awful pitching staff with a few more veteran ringers and gotten them into the playoffs.

AND 3 SB too (all 7 RBI and 6 of the 7 runs scored too just for fun)

Just read on Soxrprospects (post by Chris Hatfield) that the Greenville Drive are just a half game out of a playoff spot.  The season is divided into two halves, and since Savannah won the first and is leading in the second, "the team with the next best overall record makes the playoffs."

Excellent news. I'd love to see Moncada, Devers, Kopech, and Benintendi get tracked together to the greatest extent possible, so they learn to 'win' as a team, rather than simply focusing on
individual achievements.

Well not Kopech, unless they let him wave a towel, ala M.L. Carr.

Actually, I meant group them together through Salem and Portland, as well as going to the SAL playoffs this year.

It's likely Devers will end up a year behind somewhere in AA-AAA, since he's much younger. But it seems like a good plan to try to build camaraderie to the greatest extent possible.

Of course, the specter of trades is looming ahead. But like I said, as much as possible.

Yes, great news. All the more reason to send a couple 25 year old pitchers who are stalled at AA but could dominate teenagers down there for a couple weeks.

That seems unlikely. Maybe if you ask nicely, they'll send Trey Ball down for you.
