TB loses at home to SEA 9-3, another rough outing for wunderkind Brendan McKay.
TB could have put pressure on NY for the division in this stretch as I posted last week, 10 games against DET/SEA/@BAL while NY had CLE/@OAK/@LAD, but we are now 4 games into that 10 game stretch for each and both are 2-2, so NY's 10 game lead is intact with 36 to play.
Looks like @ThePrideofShiner is up next, or maybe to combat AJ Puk mania, we should go with our own newly promoted @TheDivision, whoever wants the ball more and does it first.
Preemptively, I can't believe I have yet to read an article from the many omniscient (after the fact) couch GMs about NY not snagging old buddy Ivan Nova at the deadline. Not only does he have NY experience and would have cost very little in prospects, he has been absolutely dominant in his last six starts, including 2 against MIN and 1 against HOU. The thing is that he had a 5.86 ERA on July 17 and absolutely so no one took his U-turn seriously until it was too late including all of those couch GMs, but he is averaging over 7 innings in those 6 starts including 2 complete games also, it is pretty crazy how his season has turned on a dime. He has been one of the top few pitchers in MLB the last three weeks, but because of the new rules, he is stuck on the White Sox for the duration which seems bad for everyone. I wonder what his market will be this winter.
