With no Pasta and finding out about Rask right before the game, that's a hell of a win.
For what it's worth, I bet the team found out yesterday at the latest. They just waited to announce it until the last possible minute.

Fantastic game today. Pretty much nothing to criticize except Bjork taking penalties.

No one else has mentioned it so maybe it’s just me but I thought Wagner played a really strong game today.

pressures the Cane low on the wall, deflects the pass back to the point, gets possession, takes a couple strides to clear some space and draws the d-man (allowing Marchand to release), and tosses a perfect lob down the ice.
Just beautiful.
In the hypothetical where Marchand was hauled down from behind and the puck missed the net, would he get a penalty shot with no goaltender?

I only got to watch the last 30 seconds and only on my phone - is there any video of Svechwhatever’s injury and the play leading up to it ?

Once one goes in, floodgates open.
I hope this is the case but he's not exactly a goal scorer. He's played great but I'm not sure he'll ever break out from a production standpoint. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

it gets ruled a goal.

What NBC hasn’t shown yet, regarding the unfortunate injury to Svechnikov: the Carolina wing playing hobby-horse, riding Chara on the back apron of the goal. You poke the bear, you take your chances. No one wanted to see Svechnikov hurt, but he bit off more than he could chew.

IDK know if this is what Jack is referring to, but this happened right before the injury. That's not Svechnikov on Chara. That's Aho. And NBC's announcer said "Aho entangled with Chara in back of the net." But hey, maybe Jack thinks Svech should pay for Aho riding Chara.

Very excited for this game. They'll rally around the goalie that wants to be there.
I lol'd. Jack GOAT
I noticed you're new, and this is a game thread, but both of these posts are kind of ridiculous. Just wanted to let you know.

I'm generally a Jack fan... but yeah, that Tweet is gross, and he should get put in his place for it. An announcer for an NHL hockey team should never, ever cheer someone getting injured... even if it was Tom Wilson.

Could this possibly, maybe, hopefully mean the B's get someone new for next year?

Not giving the job to Goucher was such a missed opportunity

Agree the Hurricanes social media team is a prime example. They chirp when it's proper to chirp but gave Tuukka all the support. They didn't cheer his opt out. Your a face of a pro team he's got to do better even on his personal platform. And I love Jack's on ice calls some still give me chills years later.

Some fool here scheduled an 11:40 tee time earlier this week, without thinking about a noon puck drop. One of the guys I was playing with was apparently in a similar situation (though, to his defense, his non hockey following wife had booked the time). We got to the tee box at 15,, a par 3, and both of us shouted out "yah!" at the same time, when we saw the score go to 3-1.

Was that actually on the table instead of him leaving or is just a damn what could have been wish? I live in Vegas and he's really good, plus I used to be in the media press box there for some games and he's a nice guy too.

Jack has such a bizarre fixation on guys getting hurt against the Bruins. I assume this dates back to the Pacioretty incident.

More what could have been. Jack's brain worms hadn't fully emerged by the time Goucher took the Vegas job
I saw him yesterday on the post-game and immediately thought that he looked like a vampire who hadn’t fed recently. Loved his calls during some important recent times for this team, but he’s becoming an embarrassment. I wonder if he’s not well.

Anyone else feel like Jack doesn't understand the difference between a "hot take" and an "outdated take"?
