Word on pasta?
Doesn’t sound like he will play. Bruce didn’t rule him out but also said he didn’t skate yesterday and the early start means there’s no real opportunity for him to test it out.

Pasta or no Pasta, Cassidy said there will be lineup changes at both F and D. Clifton for Lauzon is probably the D move, not sure what they’d do at F. Could be Lindholm for Ritchie and move Kuraly up?

Fluto speculated that Lindholm would be in for Ritchie and Clifton in for Lauzon this morning. He didn’t say where Kuraly would be, but I would assume he’s on Coyle’s LW.

Wonder if they try Coyle at RW full time If Pasta is indeed out.

Marchand - Bergeron - Coyle
DeBrusk - Krejci - Kase
Bjork - Kuraly - Kuhlman
Nordstrom - Lindholm - Wagner

It’s essentially 2 4th line lines, but it might be a better usage of Coyle than sticking him with 2 offensive anchors.

I can’t blame him. Everything is a mess. I hope all is well in his family.

Guess that explains some of Rask’s comments the other nite. Hope him and fam are okay.

Do the Bs have another goalie in the bubble?? Who backs up Halak

I’m comfortable with Halak but the compressed schedule may force Vladar or Lagace in there which is less than ideal.

This tournament is asterisk City anyway, but I’m very glad we have an extremely capable backup

Cassidy and the team leaders have a good challenge on their hands to pull together and push through these changes (opt-out/new goalie/injuries etc). I’m actually excited to see what they do.

Go B’s.

Also, a preemptive fuck off to the media who will be ripping him in the coming days.
Mad respect for Rask. He has to know the media is going to be insufferable about this. Taking the lumps for your family is a mensch move.

Yep. I am all aboard with there is nothing wrong with this move by Rask. At the end of the day, this is a sport. Family first.

Time to ride or die with Halak. I'm a fan of Lauzon since we need size in the lineup, but he did have a couple of rough games.

Bit of a surprise- Studnicka is in. Ritchie and Kuhlman are out.

Marchand - Bergeron - Bjork
DeBrusk - Krejci - Kase
Kuraly - Coyle - Studnicka
Nordstrom - Lindholm - Wagner

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - Carlo
Grzelyck - Clifton

Halak

I'll be honest, I loved what Coyle and Bjork had, so i'd like to see them try out Studnicka with Bergy and move Bjork back to the 3rd line, but I'm also stupid.

I think his exact words were "I would have respected it a lot more if he decided not to enter the bubble to begin with"

Which, given it sounds like there was a family emergency during Rask's time in the bubble, is a Charlie Kirk-level logical leap.
