They got their home runs early after they got guys on base. Our guys got on base but not before the home runs. Sox have given up lots of crooked homers instead of solos lately.

By not going over the second salary cap level do we get our true draft pick next year?
Lets go for a top 15 pick!

Not really. Playoff chow for Houston or New York.
Eh, I dunno. Best record in baseball since early June (41-17, two months of .700 is legit), a legitimately scary Top 3 playoff rotation (Kluber, Clevinger, Bieber), and a lineup that is suddenly pretty respectable with Lindor, JoRam, Santana and Puig. I don't see anyone beating Houston (have you looked at that lineup and rotation recently? Yikes.), but this is hardly some paper tiger.

Not questioning the overall post, just pointing out that their 41-17 breaks down to 20-3 against KC/DET and 21-14 against everyone else.

Get out of here with your facts and context!

Anyway, that's fair enough. Still, for the season the Indians are 5-5 in their 10 games against the Yankees & Astros -- they're holding their own. And part of being a good team, I'd argue, is consistently beating the bad teams on your schedule. The 2018 Red Sox, for instance, went 16-3 against the Orioles last year.

Yeah, definitely, NY lost 2 of 3 to BAL to start this season and have won all 14 since. But MIN gets to play the other three Central teams a lot more than CLE does down the stretch, the remaining schedule decidedly favors MIN.

No shame losing to the Indians but thats why you have to beat up and humiliate the cup cakes.

This is a fun game, just another infinitely frustrating one though for us.
What a prescient post.

At this point in the season, I'm just glad that they appear to give a damn and try their hardest to make it entertaining. To worry about actual victory or loss in 2019 seems like focusing on the wrong thing.
