It appears Justin Haley's late scratch yesterday was precautionary, aka the Boston bullpen got completely blown up.

Because he is now listed as the PawSox starter.

Justin Haley yielded five runs (four earned) on a walk and eight hits – including a homer by Max Moroff – over five frames; whiffing four and uncorking a pair of wild pitches. Josh Allen Smith surrendered one hit and one hit by pitch over the final four scoreless innings; striking out one.

Jantzen Witte and Mike Miller each managed three hits in five at-bats; Witte with a double. Brandon Phillips and Kyle Wren each procured two hits in five battles; Wren with a double. Tzu-Wei Lin lined a double and took two walks in five trips; he was caught stealing once however. Mike Ohlman followed Lin's lead with a single and two free passes in five opportunities. Tony Renda reached on a single and a walk in five treks. Cole Sturgeon stung a single in four contests. Sam Travis scorched a double in five sessions.

Salem stomped by the MudCats 9-0 in a game ended in the seventh due to wet grounds.

Jake Thompson was thumped for five runs on seven hits and a walk over two innings; striking out two. Daniel Gonzalez gave up a run on a solo tater from Trevor Morrison over four innings; allowing three other hits while whiffing five. Austin Glorius faced four batters before the game was delayed (and eventually completed) in the seventh; hitting one and giving up three hits which led to the final three Carolina runs.

Josh Tobias thumped a single and a double in three jaunts. Jake Romanski ripped a single in two trips. Tyler Hill hit a single and was picked off in three treks. Jerry Downs drew a walk in three dances. Ryan Scott, Chris Madera, Victor Acosta, and Nick Lovullo each notched a pair of subpar sessions. Brett Netzer netted a trio of awful at-bats.

Second game in Lowell was postponed (as was the Helicopter Candy Drop – sorry kiddos).

The game will be made up at some later date to be determined, if necessary, as the two teams are not scheduled to meet again this season.
