It’s now going to take about half of a 1951 Giants miracle run to play beyond 162 games. They started in August. We can start in August. Like Hightower said in the second half of Super Bowl 51: we have to do everything right from now on; no more my bad! Something like that.

I understand Mookie needs a day off, but seriously?

We're in the Chris Owings Random Strangers portion of the season.

I mean, why the hell are we giving a guy like that playing time over Holt, Hernandez or even Lin

JDM in Fenway’s RF could yield big trouble.

Hit Owings leadoff, see what we have here right away ;). Arizona and KC castoff. Sox acquired another guy like that in recent years who hit a very timely Pesky Pole home run and was never heard from again. I thought it was Grant Green, but BBREF says he never played for Boston.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
Since the Yankees/Rays 8 game skid, we have a narrow window to climb back into this thing. We split with the Royals (one game suspended) and are looking at taking 3 out of 4 from the Angels or settling for a series split. Which we can't afford at this point.

Our ace appears to be throwing well again. The next series is a 3 game v. CLE, followed by an off day. If there was ever a tipping point, this is one.

But we still have to win today (almost every day), and we're starting our #5.

Unless there's some funky history or splits here, I'd say this has the feel of a throw-in-the-towel game.

Didn't;t even know Owings was on the roster. It';s not even September yet. WTF, Alex? Why is Betts sitting? Day game after an afternoon game?

Poor saps who bought tickets for it.

And why leadoff? WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

Martinez in right should be fun. JBJ better be playing RC not RF

Only one run and only twenty pitches. I can't believe he got off so lightly.

When these kinds of lineups happened last year people complained but the Sox had a big lead. Putting this lineup out there just proves that Cora knows the season is over.

Why the fuck can we not play actual lineups. Yesterday they didn’t play Devers or benintendi and today no mookie. We blew a 9 game lead in September in 2011 the season shouldn’t be considered over because we’re six out in August why the fuck can we not just play all our good players and not constantly give guys days off when they’re 26 and one of the best athletes in the world who probably doesn’t need any scheduled off days. Also why the fuck is Devers, who leads the league in caught stealing, stealing 3rd with X up and one out. What the actual shit was that
