They didn't show a replay, but as mentioned earlier on YES, Gio is much better going to his right.

That was an incredible AB, with a very sweet ending. One more, Chapman.

Also the bullpen is entirely available tomorrow, wonder if they'll DFA Mantiply and bring up Thairo and Valera.

Orioles pummel Verlander (5 9 4 4 1 11) and come back from a blown save in the top of the 9th with a three run rally in the bottom of the 9th off Osuna capped by a walkoff two run HR from #9 hitter Rio Ruiz.

So NY is tied with HOU again at 77-41 and BAL has some confidence for the trip to NY.

If the issue with Tanaka is resolved then I think he can be a very effective pitcher moving forward. For him location is especially important, and it was evident today as he located his pitches perfectly. So if his "grip" has been resolved then we have to give Rothschild credit and especially so if Paxton has been truly "fixed." We know Rothschild works continuously with the pitchers in addressing a multitude of issues and we caught a glimpse of his work today on camera while he was observing CC in the bullpen.

Good progress and positive things are happening. :)

They should get Loaisiga and CC back this week, that will help. Hopefully Hale isn't far behind also...

That 13 pitch AB Vlad Jr. had against Chapman was the longest in Chapman's career, no surprise.

And Severino is on a mound and Dellin is supposed to join him tomorrow, throwing from 150 feet today and feeling good.

If you add those two to Loaisiga and CC and no one else goes out, I think you can make a very strong 12 man staff set of options there. For instance, Green/Kahnle alternate as openers, Tanaka/Paxton/German/Severino are your bulk inning guys (aiming/hoping for 80 pitches, 4-5 innings), then some combo of Ottavino/Britton/Betances/Chapman to close. That is 10 guys, the other two spots are open, maybe Cessa/Loaisiga right now. Once you know an opponent, you can tailor it more specifically to their hitters.

Yes, I just put Cessa on my hopeful postseason staff, I am as confused as you are.

Cessa has a 1.32 ERA since mid-June, just 4 ERs allowed in his last 27.1 innings, with a sub-1 WHIP and 29 Ks. You are truly wise, O Great Brian.

Edit: That includes 8.1 scoreless against BOS in 3 games.
