Ever since Cashman was nearly arrested, we are 0-2. It’s time to end the curse of the Darien police force.

Tanaka was throwing pretty good before he fell apart vs the Orioles. If he had finished strongly, we’d be talking about his new grip and big results it’s had. Instead, he remains an enigma. Maybe it’s the ball, maybe not. Either way, get your shit straight Masa.

Hope to see Gleyber today. We need a win before we head home for a tough series vs Baltimore.

They might have won with Gleyber playing yesterday instead of Ford. I like the fat guy but he is slow on the bases and DJ is way better at first base. Although I doubt he gets Guerrero’s ball, which was a cheap cue shot down the line that went into the book as a triple.

It's funny (?) because on one hand this is the fulfillment of a lifetime dream for Lail, his MLB debut, but what it also means for him is that NY will very likely drop him from the 40 man once their better pitchers come back. I'd guess that when Loaisiga, Betances and Severino are ready (all on the 60 day IL), Mantiply, Lail and Camarena will be dropped and exposed to other team's claims (no loss if any of them are picked up, honestly).

NY is thin in the back of the pen today, Kahnle is definitely out but if they use any of Green, Ottavino, or Britton, they'll be out for tomorrow's doubleheader (according to their own internal rules). Honestly Britton could use some more work, he could go three days in a row, but I don't make the rules.

Thanks for laying that out. It totally makes sense.

Heh, another game I turned on late. I've seen three batters so far, Urshela great catch and two doubles for NY. :)

The good news: Tanaka at 61 pitches.

The bad news: It'll be his third turn through the order this inning.

Tanaka is at 81 pitches through 7, Boone would love to just use him and Chapman today, maybe not even Chapman.

Second time they get it, nice! 91 pitches through 8 for Tanaka, probably should leave him out there.

Well done. Time to throw some more runs on the board and give enough cushion for Tanaka to safely finish this off.

I would wait for a runner before going to Chapman, I think. He is really well rested but in this case that could mean a walk or two to the 8/9 hitters before the top of the lineup.

Tough call either way, I think. If they really think they are going to use him anyway, I'd rather just start the inning with Chapman. He'll probably walk the first guy anyway, and I'd rather not have the tying run on second with no outs.

Wow, so many Yankee fans there, not sure Tanaka would have gotten that big of an ovation in the Bronx even (there you probably would still have a few people yelling 'get the surgery already!' :) ).
