How did Cal Ripken play over 16 full seasons without ever having a day off? Yet with this team's playoff chances hang by a thread and we have this lineup on the field today.

This team isn’t mediocre. We are def not making the playoffs, so honestly I’d like to see more of the probably fungible guys we have in aaa

Can Devers and Benetendi pitch?

Jumping in at the close of the game to say how furious I am with Cora. Maybe others have said the same (I’ll read the thread later).

Take a lineup that clicked to the tune of 16 runs yesterday and decimate it...with Porcello starting no less. Then leave Hernandez in for 40 pitches, essentially waiting for him to implode. Then bring in Mr. Blow It Up to seal the deal.

Fuck this. The team has no concessions left. It’s either go for every win or play for next year. Pissed to see the manager thinks playing to win is not a short term strategy.

I don't mind employing Leon, but you MUST pinch hit for him at the appropriate times (which are many). Really, Alex? Are you concerned you might hurt his friggen' confidence? The guy who thanks God every day he collects a major league paycheck?

I've generally held off on criticizing Cora, but now I believe he's given up. I'd be more worried about the other players thinking, "I'm sitting on the bench and he's not calling on me to take the bat in an RBI situation? He thinks I need rest?"

Extend that to the bullpen and we have a curious situation. I'm wondering what the front office thinks. There's such a thing as over-coddling (I think, albeit I've never experienced it).
