Good AB by Gary.

Heh, that first SB had nothing to do with the catcher, Godley makes Ottavino look like Pettitte as far as holding on runners.

Dammit, another squander. Starting to get a bad feeling about this one...

Wow, go Nick Nelson. He has been overlooked in favor of higher profile guys like Schmidt and Deivi, but he had fantastic numbers in AA last year.

This farm system!

Gio with a Graig Nettles play from foul territory, throwing across his body to get Vazquez.

Nelson looking very sharp and strong in the sixth. Kahnle’s replacement?
They need to sort out roles still, I'd say it's more likely that Green is Kahnle's replacement and Loaisiga and King become the main long guys/openers.

Nelson was a 4th round pick in 2016 out of community college who has pushed his way into the picture with strong results in Tampa in 2018 and Trenton last year.

Mazza keeping BOS in the game, great job going after Judge repeatedly and actually getting him.

Wondering what Boone has in mind for the rest of this one, I'm sure he'd love a third clean inning from Nelson.

Gary is receiving the ball like a good catcher. Not giving me any heartburn.

Benny grounds out to end the 7th. Three strong for Nelson.

That’s twice this inning the ump is not giving out a low strike. Gary turned around to debate it.

Bogey grounds back to Hale for force at second.

I guess they might as well try to stick with Hale for the 9th, maybe Britton if he gets into trouble?

NY got 6+ innings of shutout relief without using any of their top 9 relievers on a healthy roster, impressive work from Avilan and Nelson and Hale.

You called it last night. Time for guys to step up. Nelson was impressive. Hale is a professional pitcher. Even Avilan looked intriguing as a lefty who can go 3 or 4 batters. Boone picked right spot to bring him in. A manager deftly handles his bullpen and Coup sleeps through the game.

Hope there's nothing wrong with Britton.
He's fine, don't listen to those Fox idiots. I called it last night, he pitched Thursday, he warmed multiple times last night, NY is going to be ultra cautious with guys especially with the expanded playoffs.
