Needed Devers. JD won't do shit.
Ya, good move not give Raffi too much to hit. Tampa has 12 pitchers on the DL. Another high ERA guy off the scrap heap shuts down the Sox. If not for that wild pitch they don’t score. Cash is good with bullpen management. Took a little gamble there but the series is won regardless of the outcome tonight.

And it’s DRIVING ME CRAZY
There are those who want to require all outfielders and infields an actual place to stand on at the time the pitch is releases. That makes no sense. If baseball had done that in the beginning, it would be a mess today. Shortstop was intended to be a fourth outfielder who played shallow. Check this out. https://ourgame.mlblogs.com/the-men-who-invented-shortstop-89d7055b68d1 Imagine if the game looked like that today. But I do like a compromise solution proposed by George Will. Require, at the time the pitch is released, for two infielders to be on either side of second base. That would get rid of these situations with three infielders on one side, but still allow some latitude for some strategic/tactical positioning of the infielders.

No it’s fine, it just feels like 90% of surefire hits a decade ago are outs now.

It’s just too smart. And since no one will bunt into The shift to take the free base, it’s so one sided.

Devers could hit .350 if he just played the shift.

He hasn’t done that in like 24 hours.

Whitlock a Yankee turncoat? ESPN, go away. We captured him from the enemy and he had no choice but to go with us. Actually, these guys don't care who they play for as long as they are getting paid.

Vaz falling with style.

Whitlock developing the changeup in Sox ST is what has helped him make the leap this season.

Dave Winfield looks pretty good for his age. Must be all the years living in a world without George Steinbrenner.
