Once he gave up the single he should have been pulled. We have a very well rested pen.
Not really, the main guys all pitched four times in the last seven days. It’s hard for your top relievers not to be overused when you win most of the time.

7ip 3er, I'll take that from CC. He might only have a couple more of those left in him.
Agree, and case in point, number of 7+ IP, 3 ER or fewer starts by season for Sabathia since joining the Yankees:

2009: 20
2010: 22
2011: 18
2012: 17
2013: 11
2014: 1
2015: 3
2016: 9
2017: 3
2018: 4
2019: 1 (today)

TB has burned a lot of relievers in this game already. Maybe Kahnle now? Chad Green?

Judge: 19 degree LA, 110.2 EV, 353 feet, xBA .880. Caught.
Hicks: 37 degree LA, 96.4 EV, 355 feet, xBA .110. Gone.

Baseball’s a great game, isn’t it?

A Yankee fan hardly has the political capital to make this argument but we literally just watched a perfect example of analytics vs eyes. 2 outs in the ninth and nobody looked like they were coming close, then you take the pitcher out for what appears to be a slightly better matchup and get burned. Could have easily worked out and they look smart, but how could they possibly account for all the variables against whether coming in cold for a single batter was the smart move?

annnnd that's the game. Oh well, it was fun.

Well, Judge did just rip a ball into the gap the batter before.

Anyway, moot point now, nice swing by D'Arnaud.
