It looked for a minute there like the Generals might win one. Should have known better than to get suckered in.

Whew, fell behind, but YAY. I want it to be known (my wife can confirm) that I guessed 117 on the Judge HR, I might watch too much baseball.

Chapman doesn't seem to warm up enough, I guess he figures he can get loose on the mound and why waste pitches, but sometimes it bites him like last night. He got through it tonight, though.

3 games in a row giving up 4 runs or more in the top of the last inning of a tied game and then getting the tying run to the plate in the bottom has to be some kind of pathetic record of ineptness.

4 combined scoreless innings in a big game for Cortes Jr and Hale is why they deserve to be on this team and Cessa does not.

It's surprising they haven't traded for bullpen help this past month, they have a 40 man crunch looming and they need to move guys anyway.

It shows the Rays have spunk. Lou Grant hated spunk!

NY is a hard to believe combined 15-3 against TB (9-2) and BOS (6-1).

That was a Willie McCovey ending. Lucky.
Yes, but it was still a four run lead, not a one run lead.

First time in NY history that they scored 4+ runs in an inning in consecutive extra inning games, first time any team has done it since the '94 White Sox.

Yes, smart hitting by Gardner. He sat on the 2-0 fastball and that was the game. He may be the best .230 hitter in baseball.

On June 14th, the Yankees had a 46.5% chance to win the division (according to fangraphs). Since then, they’ve won 15 of 17 to increase their odds to 90.3%.

So who had Gardner with more HRs at the ASB than any other NY OF?

Gardner 13
Frazier 11
Judge 9 (and counting)
Hicks 7 (also charging)
Maybin 5
Tauchman 4
Stanton 1

Also Gardner is leading them in games played and had the hit that woke NY up in mid-April. NY started off 6-9, losing series to all of BAL, DET and CHW (!!!) and getting swept in HOU. At 6-9 they played an also struggling BOS, Paxton was dominant the first game (where is that guy?) but in the second BOS was up 3-1 in the 7th when Gardner hit a grand slam off Brasier to put NY ahead 5-3 and get the two game sweep, and they have not lost much since (51-20 since 4/16).
