Holy shit...unexpected
The only thing that can be more unexpected now is seeing this bullpen hold a lead and finish it off.

Mookie's hit it well tonight, but the book is out on him, up the middle is going to be covered. he needs to take it oppo more often.

So Workman gets a chance at redemption.

And a chance to blow two saves in one game. Except you can’t actually blow two saves in one game but well you know what I mean.

They say a man cannot step in the same river twice because it’s not the same river and it’s not the same man.

But you can only enter a ballgame once.

It’s confusing. I admit it. But if you think about it long enough you realize that there is not much difference between the question and the questioner. And in that moment may you find enlightenment.

Sweet. Now bring in Kimbrel.
Kimbrel blew saves too, but he didn't give a shit. He was the closer and he'd be back out there for the next save opportunity no matter what happened tonight. With these guys its getting into their head and they're all pitching scared. If someone has success they get sent back out there and bumped up until they fail too and no one has any confidence.

I feel like I'm starting to see why defined roles are important to a successful bullpen.

They do have defined roles. Just not roles you typically think of.

How do you know it’s in their heads and they’re not just, like, tired all the time?
