Worst first place team I’ve ever seen.
You hit it on the head. This team are a bunch of overachievers. That's good that they've been able to give us as much pleasure as they have with the holes the team has. I do believe this is why we were not buyers in a major way at the deadline. Some people here don't like it when I say this team is still in rebuilding mode, but it's true an Bloom pretty much telegraphed a while back that they were not going to make any blockbuster moves at the deadline. We've got a lot of wholes, and the farm system is still in the process of being restocked.

But I think Bloom is doing thing right.

Pittsburgh, PA
This game feels emblematic of the entire season. They're out of a game that feels like it should beat a loss, but then they string together some runs and a timely blast and what do you know, it's a win!

Eventually they won't turn into wins, though.

Vaz with another rocket off that hitters count meatball. Should be fined every time he hits the ball to the left side.

Sale in Worcester tomorrow. That could have been Pawtucket.
That should have been Pawtucket. Blame the former Speaker of our House for not allowing any debate on the second offer regarding a new stadium the ownership made, a very reasonable and taxpayer friendly offer compared to the ridiculous first offer. Then again, one could say the Red Sox blew the deal with the first ludicrous offer much in the way they lost Jon Lester with a ridiculous first offer.

Not that Franco is a bad player of course, but he has been struggling against major league pitching in his adjustment period. Sad we can’t match that.

Rios is not the answer in these spots. I’m not sure who is, but it’s not Rios. Stop putting Rios in when the game is still winnable.
