What a pleasant night. Another birthday party I had to attend.... that turned into a late nighter..... another game I couldn't watch but could only check my phone. A little more stressful though. There were a few moments when I felt the anger rising up in me but after a few moments and an update... only calm pleasure. It was wonderful. So far the whole last few days have been strangely calming, relaxing and very enjoyable. Keep this feeling going..... there's really no need at all to ruin it.
Today I'm heading west into the Hill Country with my wonderful wife and our adorable dog for a hike. Stopping on the way back for a glass of wine and some delicious brisket. All very enjoyable... like seeing another crushing destruction of The Asshats and The Fucksticks, seeing their whiney shitstains of fans panicking. All so fantastically joyful.

A win tonight and the division race is officially on... even at 7 GB. The odds would be against our boys with only 55 games left but you never know. Momentum is a thing. The stone is at the top of the hill and it just needs a little nudge to get it over the peak. May Chris Sale be that force.

After 106 games, as today, the Sox held an 8.5 lead over the MFY in 1978. The Sox were playing .632 ball, they are playing .635 today. Go for them. VENDETTA.

If they’re 4-5 back after the second series with NY, sure. But just winning games and inching up in the WC race is fine.

This is my attitude. Yankees pitchers have a 7.81 ERA in Fenway, not so at home. It's appropriate to feel encouraged, but I am protecting my heart by hoping only for the Sox to play in the post. I would be delighted and surprised if they win the division, it should go without saying.

I wonder what it's like to be Chris Sale today.

I would imagine it's pretty great to be Chris Sale every day.

We were supposed to get our baby from the NICU today (three weeks today), but she had a Brady (no relation to Tom) this morning and they delayed it 3 days minimum.

Kindly make the Yankees pay.

It would absolutely be on. They would be 7 back but have 8 more games head to head after tonight. By next Sunday night, it could be a real race if things go right. Huge game tonight for Sale.

I'm not sure I understood all that is happening in this post, but may everything go well with your daughter. Now, and forever. The one thing I understood completely was making the Yankees pay. Pay dearly they will on Sale day.

I was starting to transition into football mode, and watched more Celtics summer league than Sox games for a week or two there...and here we are a few short weeks later, the Sox have me (and probably a big chunk of New England) on the precipice of being sucked back in.

LFG!!!

I've been drinking all day today. It started with extra sangria from a party yesterday. Then I had to open a bottle of wine to take Stroganoff with some extra smoked brisket. That bottle is finished. Not sure which direction to go next.

Keep drinking. That was my strategy after Friday's 3-margarita lunch, and things worked out very well.

Cracking open a bottle of Tomatin 12 single malt for the start of this game. Work will have to deal with it if we put another whoopin' on the MFYs.
