The (small) bright side is that Cashman doesn't like to mess with things midseason when the team is going well, but he certainly doesn't have that issue this year.

None of us are giving up on this team. We have seen some weird playoff races over the years. Remember 1995? I gave up on those guys. But I was younger then. Things can change quickly. What if Dominguez comes up in August and adds a power bat to the lineup? He’s hitting around .350 in 91 ABs in the minors this year. What if Stanton returns and eventually starts scaring people.

Cashman has to fix the bullpen. And dump three sticks of dead wood.

Yep, we are talking about it in multiple threads in the Yankee section.

I just close my eyes and think of the potential lineup by mid-August if Cashman lands a 3B also...

Chisholm 2B (L)
Soto RF (L)
Judge CF/LF (R)
Dominguez LF/CF (S)
Stanton DH (R)
Wells C (L)
3B TK
Rice 1B (L)
Volpe SS (R)

When is Rizzo supposed to return?

The Red Sox outfielders should be wearing football helmets this series in the OF, are they always like that? Flipping into stands, running into walls, somehow staying in the game. It's impressive, I guess?

Booser throws 97 but I don't think threw one FB to either lefty, Rice or Grisham.

Not quite. Homer, double, double. Boone concedes game. He’s got nobody left.

Judge wins this battle but Soto runs through stop sign, out at home. Great play by Duran, barehanding carom off wall.

Kind of an interesting statement by Soto in terms of not obeying his coach or the code of baserunning. Had he stayed at third, he scores on Wells’ subsequent fly to left.

Kahnle tosses a scoreless eighth. If Yanks can tie this up, would Boone dare send out Holmes?
