The AL East leading Yankees have surrendered 37 runs in over two and two thirds games to the Red Sox. They have now surrendered 77 runs over their last eight games.

They are built for October alright. October in Cancun.

I keep seeing people say this. When did Devers pass Bogaerts?
I think it depends on what defensive metrics you rely on, X has been slightly better at the plate, but some metrics really hate his defense. Regardless, they're both in the conversation for best season in the AL non Mike Trout.

If the Red Sox make a strong push for the division, X or Devers might wind up making the MVP race interesting. Yes, Trout's having the better season by a good margin, but that doesn't always mean everything.

Trout's debatably been screwed out of two or three MVP awards, though the recurring theme in those instances seems to be low RBI totals (under 100) where the winner gets somewhere around 130. There's also seemingly this weird "Trout's boring" bias - which could also work against him, if the voters go with someone "new".

To the detriment of X and Devers, they're on the same team, and pretty close statistically - so they may cannibalize votes from one another.

Their rotation is not built for the post season.. their bullpen is built for it, but you have to be able to get to it. I’m also suspect of their offense against playoff teams.. seems like they’re still depending a lot on the long ball.

Is it too early in the season for the Yankees to start of one of the worst collapses of all time?

Its bad and with each run scored against them and each basehit the Sox get here to expand the lead, potential trading partners are going to increase their asks of the Yankees. Their pitching collapse this week -and that isn't really hyperbole unless you think surrendering almost nine runs per game is acceptable - really couldn't have come at a worse time excepting the postseason.

MUHAHAHA! Even Travis is hitting these guys!
