Gardner scratched with a barking knee, not too serious and he is available off the bench. In possibly related news, Cameron Maybin will start his rehab assignment in AAA on Tuesday, so he should be ready by the end of the week.1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B

The interesting split to me is that he has the best ERA in the league after the first inning, in the 2.4 range. He has been a bit disappointing so far, agreed, but there's still time. With Paxton, the whole just doesn't quite seem to match the sum of his parts. Talented, and still with plenty of good results, but not what he could be.
This is where I am at. Get this guy fixed for September and beyond. Can they rest him at all? Is the knee injury a factor? The interesting split to me is that he has the best ERA in the league after the first inning, in the 2.4 range. Not sure what value Andujar has until he comes back, it would take Frazier plus a couple of other pieces and it doesn't seem like the right move for NY. Boyd has a 6.08 ERA since the start of June (8 starts), .872 OPS allowed. If NY is going to make a move for someone, it needs to be someone who is clearly a top 4 guy for them right now, and I don't think that's Boyd. Most of the other guys rumored make more sense IMO, but I'm not sure if Cashman can get one at a price he can live with.Does Andujar and Frazier get us Boyd?
