I'm excited as you are. I want to believe. But no matter what happens this year, whether me do damage in post season, or we muddle along the rest of the season, we have reason to be optimistic about the future of this team. We are in a post Dombrowski era. Chaim believes in beholding for the long term, and that makes me happy..
Considering where they were last year vs where they are so far this year, I'm thrilled.

The days of "Same old Red Sox, start out strong, struggle after the ASB, fade in September" are long gone, as in 2004, 2007, 2013, 2018.

Was thrilled with one, amazed by two, blown away by three, I'm dreaming by four.

Both of my grandfathers and five of my uncles never got to see one, my Dad got to see three.

We are blessed as Red Sox fans, this team owes me nothing, them competing makes me happy and makes Summer something special.

Anything beyond four is gravy, just go with it and be happy with their success.

Rogers Park
Particularly funny Jays crew going on about Sox numbers and Fenway
Unfortunately, B-R doesn't have it broken out by park: Dunedin vs. Sahlen Field.

(It was called Pilot Field when I was a kid and would go see Bisons games with my late grandfather and sit in the bleachers. It's a really lovely park.)

This is where I am. What I want from the Boston Red Sox is worthwhile baseball all season long.

That can be because they are in the postseason — fun! It can be because they are competing for a postseason spot into September. Or it can be because they are calling up interesting young players. Some of the most fun I've had watching this team was the stretch in late 2015 when Torey Lovullo was managing, and they called up Bradley and Betts and Swihart and the team became really, really fun.

I just don't want a wretched Pirates-style season where the team is bad and there's no help coming from the high minors.

I could be a Diamonbacks fan.

I'd be following this kid Widener they just got back from the IL. Ketel Marte is great when he's healthy. They've got four or five prospects in the top-100 lists. They should sell everything, but next year should start to be fun as the good prospects get to AA/AAA.

Have a friend who was drafted and played in their organization but was cut last year with the MiLB purge. He's playing in the Indy League, American Association. Ironically he's a teammate of Roger Clemens kid.

Pivetta is using the enormous cushion of runs to experiment with an 87 mph changeup. He is keeping it low for the most part. I prefer that to feeding power hitters high sliders, which Pivetta did far too much in June.

This is what Garrett Richards would love to have.
