Someone's going to have to explain the Sam Travis fascination to me. The guy seems likeable and all, but the dude has not hit at all past Single A like 5 years ago.

Honestly I think his defensive rep was overrated based on his success gunning guys down when he first came up.
His pop-up times were also a wonder to behold. I guess thighs wear down as well as UCLs (even if they don't tear quite the same).

He had huge framing numbers, especially in 2014. It seems like the league tightened that up, so the difference between better and worse framers is less than it was five years ago.
Christian's framing was off the charts in those days. Umpires have gotten smarter, and that doesn't help Vazquez.

Bradley is on the descent part of his roller coaster ride.

Can’t get the runner in with less than 2 outs. After Vazquez and Bradley seem to be over their streaks. No shut down inning. The team is proving Cora’s thesis that they can’t put anything together consistently.

Oh, and another game giving up 6 or more runs (1 a total gift).

Frustration, thy name is Red.

I looked it up. Baseball prospectus had CV's framing at 14.4 runs above average in 55 games. That is indeed off the charts.

Makes me wonder if it's because he doesn't complain about it. He's a team player.
Cora could PH for other guys but doesn't. Is it because they pout and he's afraid they won't like him anymore?
That is...illogical.

JD is basically hitting like he hit in Detroit. Which is good, but not amazing.

2014-16, in aggregate: .299/.357/.540

2019: .294/.368/.529
