There’s something wrong with their scouting and game calling against Toronto because they have crushed Red Sox pitching all year.
I'm worried about this for all teams. At some point, when a lot of your pitchers are not hurt but mysteriously underperforming, it makes me wonder what's going on. I think Bannister's approach to pitch repertoires has been reverse-engineered by other teams' analytics departments, and so we're a bit more predictable to them — not as much as if a pitcher was tipping, but enough to hurt.
