These 2 teams should be sick of each other by now, same with these 2 pitchers. Once upon a time teams constantly saw each other this frequently all the time, but there were 3 teams in NYC back then... anyway I want to believe that being at home on real grass and with no unnatural challenges overhead we shall prevail. Oh and guys....will someone in pinstripes please notice the short porch...it's getting a bit weird...

Yeah, it's time to start hitting again. Snell only lasted 1/3 of an inning here last month, but allowed just two hits and four walks. I'm guessing he'll be challenging hitters more today because of that, let's make him pay.

Here's hoping Paxton overcomes his 1st inning woes. So far this year, he's given up 17 earned runs in the 1st inning. And, 18 earned runs combined for the rest of the innings or innings 2-8 (hasn't pitched in the 9th yet).

Yeah, not sure they'd ever do it, but if this keeps up, he could use an inning or two from Chad Green to open.

Didi sits against the lefty:

LeMahieu 2B
Judge OF
Voit DH
Sanchez C
Hicks OF
Encarnacion 1B
Torres SS
Urshela 3B
Gardner OF

Or he could warm up twice, as Jim Bouton used to do.

Michael Brosseau and Nate Lowe have been making some noise since being called up. Maybe some new young blood will help the Rays stop being the Yankees' rented mule.

I enjoyed Verlander’s whining at the All-Star game about middle infielders going oppo on him.

Everyone is a home run hitter in Yankee Stadium!

In the fourth, Judge had nailed Garcia trying to go first to third on a single to right. Judge cut the ball off going to his left, spun and fired a two-hop strike to Gio.

The pitchers have collectively been doing their job since coming back from London, the lineup has been asleep since coming back from the break and need to wake up ASAP.

K’s Kiermaier.

And he’s staying in for the third out. Gets it on one pitch.

Time for runs from the slumbering offense.

I would have bet that Castillo would be the one to blow the lead. Nice to clear him and line up one of the other arsonists to handle those duties tonight.

Nice job by Chad Green again.

Edit: I posted this before I saw the two rockets he gave up to end the inning, but still two scoreless innings, I'll take it.

Gary with a nice block on strike three in the dirt. Don’t even worry about him anymore. Although I do have occasional Andujar nightmares still.

101 barely fouled off, still alive.

D'Arnaud looks like he is sitting FB on every pitch.

FB at the top of the zone or a slider in the zone might end this.

Another slider misses low, D'Arnaud hasn't come close to offering at any of those, 3-2 and the runners will be on the move.
