Just here to point out that this Rare Earth version may make the most delightful use of the humble tambourine in pop history. First, it's just blazing fast and inexplicably way up in the mix. Then, it just drops out completely for a few measures during the solo/break. When it kicks back in for the last verse, it's just the perfect accent and forces your hips to move involuntarily. I recommend putting on the earbuds and ratcheting up the volume. I just did and my hangover is gone.

Great pick. I"m now officially amped. Here's to a blazing "second half'!

Folks around me on the plane are complaining about my hips.

I think they are jealous of my tunes

Maeda v. Erod

Joe Kelly makes his fighting return to Fenway.
Just as he's returning to form.
.6 ERA in last 12 appearances.

But Kelly has pitched much better lately. He has a 0.68 ERA (one earned run, 13 1/3 innings), 20 strikeouts and eight walks in his past 12 outings dating back to May 28. The opposition also is slashing just .143/.276/.184/.460 during the stretch.

I hope Beni can be an effective 5 or 6 hole hitter, but I'm afraid he's going to find his way down to 7th or 8th before long.

I'm not qualified to start a greatest tambourine moments thread, but this definitely joins Mick Jagger, Traci Partridge, and Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 on the list.

The cradle of the game.
Managers really do love the L/R/L thing
Of the Sox chances in 2019, MLB.com says "They fall short."

MLB writer Matt Snyder says of tonight's game "Dodgers will stomp Red Sox"

Ah... no.

Nuh, nuh, no.

Number one: Hate to fuck up the narrative, but yeah, we're making the goddamned playoffs. Sorry, but suck on it.
Number two: Oh, those plucky World Series Finalists certainly know all about stomping... they saw exactly what that looks like back in October. (And the October before that.)

Ya know, my entire childhood was poisoned by Sox teams who jumped out of the gate, looked high and mighty through the summer, only to wilt, choke and die in the fall.
But that was then, and now we're the ones who peak at the right times, who make the plays, and who are about to go on a run.

We're the reigning World Champions and we're about to start playing like that again. Come at us, bro.
