YesAnother Robles loss
Yeah every team is going to piss away a few, but certain elements of this bullpen are like my bladder.Pissing away winnable games is not a good long term plan when you play in the AL East.
Are you asking about this game in particular?I missed this one. Why did Robles pitch in a tight spot?
No expectations that he will take responsibility.Cora has been on a brutal role lately

Eh, he had a two run lead against a shit ballclub.
Perhaps he's not the best manager in baseball. An embarrassing Cora loss. Blame it on Robles all you want, but Cora put him out there and then left him out there to blow the game.
He loses more games by his dumb decisions than is acceptable in a playoff team.
I didn't know he was still in the league. But if his ERA any indication, looks pretty good.Robertson would look good in a Sox uni
(bit biased bc that’s my last name -always wanted a robertson Sox shirt)
safe to say he’d be an upgrade overI didn't know he was still in the league. But if his ERA any indication, looks pretty good.
Is he vaccinated? He'd be an upgrade from Houck in games played north of the border.safe to say he’d be an upgrade over

This is an excellent point, and if anything makes this game even more depressing.also on our offense given that outside of the first two innings, the sox were setdown 1-2-3 in the
3rd
4th
7th
9th
5th and 8th innings we had 1 hit and thats it
Yep. Up 4-0 after two innings and needed to put those guys away. Just a terrible, terrible job by the pitching staff in this one. Awful. One of the worst losses of the year given the opposition. Absolutely terrible.
Agreed. They need to do SOMETHING.They can’t go into the 17 game stretch vs NY, TB and Toronto with this bullpen.
When the starter gets hurt in the fifth inning, Cora doesn’t have enough quality relievers to NOT use one or more bad ones. Get Whitlock and Taylor back and things should go more smoothly.I missed this one. Why did Robles pitch in a tight spot?
totally agree but they still need at least another arm beyond guys already part of the organization. Just way too many unreliable arms to carry in a tough division (saw, Robles, diekman etc)When the starter gets hurt in the fifth inning, Cora doesn’t have enough quality relievers to NOT use one or more bad ones. Get Whitlock and Taylor back and things should go more smoothly.
8 walks and the HBP over the last four10 walks (and one HBP) given up in eight innings.
Whitlock might be a few weeks away from returning to the pen. I've a feeling he stays in the rotation until Sale returns, especially if Hill is injured. That said Taylor alone should be a huge boost if he's healthy and pitches as he's previously pitched. When the starter gets hurt in the fifth inning, Cora doesn’t have enough quality relievers to NOT use one or more bad ones. I would like to know why he plays JBJ out of his most valuable position. He makes that catch that Duran missed more often than not.An embarrassing Cora loss. Blame it on Robles all you want, but Cora put him out there and then left him out there to blow the game.

Last saw Rocker in 2019 during the NCAA World Series. Mets drafted him 10th. I read now that he didn't sign and is playing with the Tri-City Valley Cats in an independent league.Didn't want to clutter up any other thread with this, but I'm watching Kumar Rocker pitch for the 3rd time tonight. If he could somehow fall to us, he'd look great coming out of the bullpen later this year.
I live just outside of Albany, and I've been taking my son to all his starts. Rocker looks good, but from my amateur eye, he looks like he starts running out of his best stuff after 3ish inningsLast saw Rocker in 2019 during the NCAA World Series. Mets drafted him 10th. If only yesterday had been an off day.Tough to lose a 1-run game and not even use your best relievers. But guess they will be well rested for tomorrow
I thought we had quotes from Cora that Whitlock is going to the bullpen. Although a Hill injury could delay that until Sale returns.Whitlock might be a few weeks away from returning to the pen. It's quite possible, but I've not seen anything definite about a move to the pen upon his return. I know that the general consensus had once been that there would be an eventual move back in an effort to cap his innings for the season, but that the move would likely happen with the return of Sale, Paxton and Eovaldi. Heres an article from three days ago with Cora's most recent thoughts on the matter.I thought we had quotes from Cora that Whitlock is going to the bullpen.
