... and it's stupid "pizza"
See I’m torn on this. The pizza is stupid because they call it ‘pizza’. More like a pizza pot pie. But damn when done right it’s delectable. That’s where I’m at. Delicious, but not real pizza.

And Stewart is right about the Chicago dog. It’s absolute trash across the board. What an abomination. Who puts a pickle and a tomato slice in a hot dog?

But is it really like a pot pie? A pot pie requires a baked crust on top as well as the bottom. But in doing an in depth Google image search I see that Chicago is claiming that their "pizza" is a pizza pot pie. I'm going to have to disagree because of the lack of a top crust. And yes, I also realize we had a rather spirited debate on this recently.

Meanest ushers in all of baseball, too. Overrated rat-infested ballpark. They need to demolish it and build a new one on Montrose Fields or Parker Field. (IMHO)

I think most deep dishes have a top crust and they are essentially stuffed pizzas. Most of my deep dish has been Giordanos. They are stuffed pizzas. Also had Lou Malnatis once. Both great, but not pizza. Call it a pot pie, casserole whatever you want to call it. But it ain’t pizza.

Strong disagree. Chicago dogs are great.
It really is a matter of personal preference. With that said, if I wanted tomato and pickle I’d go to a deli and get a real sandwich, which a hot dog is clearly not.

Chicago also has quite possibly the worst airport in the country. It’s the only place I truly dread flying into when my monthly flight schedule comes out… so there’s that.

And 2 of the worst 5. And the least worst one is in a warzone and flies the dreck known as SW.Saving grace is that it has a potbelly instead of a subway.

As an almost weekly flyer, I love O'Hare. Been flying in and out of here for 35 years(1 million+ United miles), and it's easy to get around, you can fly anywhere direct, and there are enough flights that they often find alternate planes if there is a problem with mine. Although I really don't want to hear that you pilots are angry when you're flying here.

I’d take mdw over ord any day. On a good weather day I enjoy the challenge of landing on that postage stamp and I pretend I’m trying to put it down on an aircraft carrier.
I will admit ord has gotten a lot better since they’ve redesigned the runways/taxiways. 10 years ago it was like driving around Boston in the pre gps era. I’ve never been ord based so I’m not there often enough to get a feel for the flow of traffic. Those based there probably can handle it in their sleep. Me on the other hand… well it gives me mild anxiety even though I’ve never taken a wrong turn.

On a bad weather day I don’t want anything to do with either.

I won't argue with you about the bad weather days!

I forgot the crappy Friday afternoon start times. Wrigley can go straight to hell.

He's a retired journalist. He forgot the rules the day he hung up his notebook.
That, and he's the oldest person on the board.
I resent your forgetting my existence, baldy!* (I'm pretty sure you were just insulting your pal, b/c after all, what is more insulting than not dying young?)
I guess the Cubs continue to get people on Friday afternoons, because "tradition." I like it b/c the odds of my staying awake just went way up.
This Crook in the Cubs line-up was brought up yesterday to replace Jason Heyward, who went to the IL w/ knee inflammation. Naturally Crook was 2 for 3 yesterday.
It will be interesting to see if Hill can baffle the kid.

*No offense, my husband is also bald, and he's very pretty. I assume you are, too.

I'm not a lady, I'm a Red Sox fan.
It's really great to have a game to look forward to on a day when it's too hot to move.
I'm glad I don't have hair hanging down my neck like Strahm, aren't you?

His research showed it would be good for future earnings? (haven't looked at the main board to see if that observation was made there... and it is more game thready)

The last time they played against each other in CHI these were the lineups

Guess the date?
This era Theo started to real make some bad decisions. I'm sure others disagree but I thought at the time that Theo mistakenly cast his lot with Kalish over Reddick and Anderson over Rizzo. Others too.... but seeing Kalish's name there brings me back to the lack of patience with Reddick.

Reddick was traded after Theo left.

I usually like Jamail (sp?), but boy was all that fan stuff about the ballpark BORING. As someone who's never been there and probably never will be, I would rather have seen some examples of what is so special about that park.

Thing is, nobody I know from Chicago calls it pizza. It’s Deep Dish. Period. And they all also like and acknowledge that what we think of as pizza, is in fact, pizza. It’s a great city, I love Wrigleyville. Go Sox.
