NY plays their second and final series against the Neo-Guardians, this one in their midge-friendly confines. The series in NY was in late April and marked by a 9th inning comeback against Clase, Donaldson walk, IKF double, Gleyber game-winning single into the right-center gap with some ugliness from the NY OF fans on the final few plays. That series also started NY's ongoing hot streak, they were 7-6 before this series and have gone 49-15 since (124-38 pace).

Friday: Cole at Civale
Saturday: Cortes at McKenzie
Sunday: Montgomery at Plesac

NY misses Bieber and Quantrill.

Cleveland has been playing very well for a while now, besides being swept by BOS last week. They are 20-10 since May 30, although that breaks down further into 17-4 followed by 3-6 in their last 9.

Rained out, split doubleheader tomorrow, first game at noon.

The pretty hot Miguel Andujar was replaced mid-game tonight in AAA, likely going to be the 27th man tomorrow.

Cole with his BP imitation on the road again, not ideal.

Nice rally after the HR, even with a weak three pitch K by Stanton in the middle.

Be better now Cole.

Cole at 57 pitches through 3, he will need some bullpen support today.

Cole pitching way too carefully to Sandy freaking Leon, finally he got him his second time up.

77 pitches through 4 for Cole though.

Stanton responsible for 5 of the first 14 outs today, two DPs and a 3 pitch K. Maybe he should have gotten this first game off...

Finally a shorter inning for Cole, 89 pitches through 5. The tough middle of the order is up in the 6th.

Why is the strikeout noise for the Guardians the extra life chime from Mario? Kind of counterintuitive.

Nice 6th from Cole, dots the corner at 97 on his 107th pitch.

Chapman coming in next, first appearance since May 22. They supposedly worked on his mechanics, we’ll see.

Chapman with zero control of his fastball again, he looks exactly the same as pre-injury (bad).

Absolute best case scenario. I will never trust Chapman, so him doing what he did today in a game that they still easily win without having to use their best arms (outside of Marinaccio but I liked going to him there) - perfect. Put him back on the IL and let's never see him again.

You know there is a lot of crazy shit going on in the world when Ken Tremendous hasn’t tweeted about Matt Carpenter yet today.

Quiet in here, almost like there was already a baseball game today.

Cortes with a nice bounceback start so far, curious if they'll have him start the 7th or if they try to get the last nine outs with King and Holmes.

They said Gallo has two sac flies. In his career. I looked at Baseball Ref just to be sure, and yeah, that's what the numbers say. Eight seasons. 2202 ABs. He is not a ground ball hitter.

I don't think I've ever seen such a crazy stat.

That's completely ridiculous.
