The Bruins have been the better team for the majority of the series yet here we are in an elimination game. However we have gotten to this point, it doesn’t matter now. All that matters is this: Find a way to earn 60 more minutes of hockey. Simple as that. Survive the early onslaught that the Isles are sure to bring being home then impose our will. There’s too much character, experience, and talent in that room to not to overcome this adversity and bring this series back to Boston. I believe in this team and I think this series and this season is far from over.

Find a way to earn 60 more minutes of hockey.

I'd guess DeBrusk goes back in for Lazar, but we'll see. Frederic is an option but he has not played in almost a month.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Hall - Krejci - Smith
Ritchie - Coyle - Kuhlman
DeBrusk - Kuraly - Wagner

Grzelyck - McAvoy
Reilly - Lauzon
Tinordi - Clifton

I suspect Rask will try to go.

Butch has to have an extremely short bench tonight. Tinordi should only be allowed to kill penalties.

To quote Charlie McAvoy: this thing isn't over. And it's not ending tonight. Win this one and send it home for game 7.

It's time to do away with the bullshit and these Islanders. They're a good team, but nothing more. At times, the Bruins have made them look as such. I don't give a shit about refs--bury chances and don't make dumbshit plays in the d zone, and we win tonight.

And because only good things come from Wire references:

O'Rourke and Dwyer are vets. Appears O'Rourke worked the 2011 SCF if you believe in that kind of mojo. Last game they worked this postseason was Bolts/Canes game 3 in Tampa. Tampa Bay was called for 3 penalties, Carolina was called for 2 penalties. The 3rd penalty against Tampa was a holding the stick call in OT against Kucherov and Carolina won it on the ensuing PP. So take that FWIW, they actually made a non-"automatic" call in OT. They also called Hamilton for for tripping with 1:08 remaining in regulation in a tie game. I can't remember the legitimacy of either call.

Anyways, nothing is going to change. PP's will be roughly even, it is just anyone's guess as to how we end up there. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the calls come.

I'm pretty sure the Hamilton was legit. if I'm remembering correctly, it was a waved off icing-like play where he and Killorn were going after the puck. Killorn surprised Hamilton and got position on him and it led to a trip. Pretty cut and dry call IIRC, which given it was a game between the Lightning and Hurricanes, I may very well have it wrong.

Very uneasy about not having Carlo or Miller again tonight. But fuck it, we're still the better team, and have largely carried the play. Pot the good chances, and let's go to game 7.

Every Tinordi shift is going to have me on edge, but we go with what we got and I still like our tire-patched squad in an elimination game.

I will feel a lot better if Pasta is shown walking into the dressing room in some outrageous hat/suit combo.

Survive tonight. Bury your chances. No shot on goal is a bad one, the perfect play is not necessary.

At first I was curious why the NHL decided to use the corpse of a Canadian rock frontman as a referee but then I realized I need to brush up on my Gord rolodex, and also realized he'd probably be an upgrade anyways

Plus, while Downie was a legit lyricist, was The Tragically Hip was never as musically good as Canadians like to pretend.

Everything tells me that the season ends tonight. That's good, because I am rarely right about these things.

Butch putting his ass on the line with this call if Rask is still immobile and camping in the net.

Just so you all know, the Bruins are winning tonight. The score will be 3-2. Boston will have a commanding 3-1 lead and NY will get a late goal that will have us on edge but it will be a solid road performance bringing it back to the Garden for game 7.

Book it.

I just threw out my back. Maybe I took one for the team and transfered Tuukka's issues to me. You're welcome.

One game, one period at a time. You're the better team, play your best and win. It's that simple.

Good luck. I pinched a nerve in my neck at the beginning of May and it's still bother me.
I threw out my back in '92 and it still hurts.
First time I really threw it out good was golfing the Monday of Thanksgiving week a good 20 years ago. I tried to deal with it with heat and advil but by Wed I was sitting at dinner and it just totally seized on me. My dad had to literally help me to the floor. I couldn't move to the point that they called an ambulance to get me to the hospital. They sent me for x-rays or something at one point and I couldn't scooch myself sideways from the bed to the platform of the machine.
They gave me a shot of demerol and sent me home with some scripts (flexeril, vicodin, and big ass motrin). Can remember sitting in Walgreens just staring at the Christmas lights in amazement.
I've had little minor ones since then but nothing to that extent. Holy cow was I down bad.
Backs suck.
