Be pretty hard to make Drake sad tonight. Partying in SF with a 2-1 series lead for his Raptors.
Not sure I can handle Canada as the home of NBA championship team.
As for the Yankees, time to stop the bleeding. But no matter what happens tonight, the backup team has done its job, keeping the Yankees from falling 10 games back after the injuries hit. Just hold the fort for two more weeks, guys.

Gleyber and Brett sit, Morales at 1B presumably because he is used to playing bounces off this shitty surface:

2B LeMahieu
CF Hicks
DH Voit
C Sánchez
1B Morales
RF Frazier
3B Urshela
SS Estrada
LF Maybin

I was supposed to start the thread today, but whatever...as the game commences take a sec to remember that the guy on the left of this post was manning a machine gun on a 36 ft wooden LCSS, that carried rockets and 24 of these 'bathtubs' went in ahead of the landing craft that carried the troops to the beaches on this morning 75 years ago...

Wingack was evidently in extended spring training in Tampa, it's always tricky when guys come back off the IL. :)

Speaking of which, Boone confirmed Didi will join NY in CLE tomorrow, hopefully that's not the only move they make.

It’s about time Thairo gets a start. And I agree with you, Jon. Thairo needs to go down to Scranton and play every day. I worry that he is trade bait.

On June 6th 1944 my Dad was at a base near Nottingham, England. The censors were not all that bright, his letters to my Mom were not redacted when he told her he was in 'Robin Hood's forest'. It so happens his birthday is June 8. He was part of a signal corps group that landed about 2 weeks later. He got halfway across France before a kidney stone ended his campaign and he was sent home...

LOL no need whatever, bring us luck today

With two outs in second, Thairo grounds to third. Hustles down the line and gets hit in the helmet by Vladdie Jr.’s throw. Yanks then score four runs on a DJ double and Hicks 3-run homer.

Maybin had a key single to keep the inning alive for DJ. Can the Yanks keep this guy? Only if Frazier gets traded.

We’re getting three innings from David Hale tonight, if all goes well.

The first one wasn’t his fault, but the two after that were. Good to get Chapman in a game after he’s warmed two days in a row anyway.

That works.

How many of us are still getting Andujar flashbacks on late inning grounders to third?

Glad to get out of this dump, onto Cleveland and Didi's return.

Thairo sent to AAA to make room for Didi. Nice job, kid, see you again in September if not sooner.
