While I agree with the takes that the Celts are the better team… haven’t we already been though this twice with Milwaukee and Miami? Would love to be wrong but feels like this is going 7 again, even if the Celts are simply better.

There were a good half dozen egregious calls that went GS’s way. Green should be gone. He’s played like a total punk.

As always for Boston, it’s a matter of turnovers. If they avoid them, they’re so hard to stop. If they turn it over, their opponent (Miami, Milwaukee, GS) gets into their game and the Celtics are in trouble.

I’m fine with that it’s the playoffs and they’re jawing tell them to cut the shit and play it out
Jawing is one thing. Draymond initiating physical contact with Jaylen after the play is another, unless you want a fight at some point. And it’s not like he hasn’t been pushing the line all game. This isn’t spontaneous jawing, this is what Draymond does. It’s calculated. And by not punishing him, the league is rewarding and encouraging him.

What Ime should have done is said to the refs "we both know that is a technical. If you don't call it, I'm sending Theis out there to set the hardest pick you've ever seen on Green next trip down and all hell is going to break loose in this place. And you will have no one else to blame. So you gotta decide---are we here to play NBA basketball or WWF wrestling? I need to know what to tell my guys the rules are tonight" and send Theis to the scorers table.
Any plan that involves Theis is a bad one. Including whatever this thing is.

and Drays earlier push in the back on tatum is dangerous.

The ABC/ESPN studio crew should just dissolve and outsource to TNT.

There is absolutely nothing I like about the ESPN/ABC presentation, from the in game announcers to the studio show

Most important thing that happened in that quarter. No Celtics picked up their third foul, which will allow them to be aggressive going to the hoop.

Second most important thing:

Curry: 20 minutes
Wiggins and Green: 19 minutes each.

Keep it close and run them off the floor in the 4th.

Take care of the ball and we run them out of the building.

Inconsistent officiating, Marcus was brutal, 0 from Horford, and minimal impact from TL and we're down 2?

I hated that Tatum + bench lineup we ran out there at the end of the 1st. Hope we don't see too much of it going forward.

Celtics are miles better. Playing an incredibly sloppy game with horrifically one sided officiating and it's dead even. If they stop turning it over the Warriors are fucking toast, refs or no refs.
strong with the ball and the C's will beat their 8

GW's defense isn't good enough to create all those TO's, completely braindead unforced crap

That no one ended up with 3 fouls is a big accomplishment. 2nd Q officiating wasn't too bad outside of what Green gets away with.

4 TOs for Tatum and Smart, a couple each on just stupid passes. Great shooting, will need that to continue. And I thought Theis wasn't bad at all.

The whole production is shit. The fact that I would rather watch the above the rim feed with INSANE camera angles and terrible crowd audio but no commentary tells you everything you need to know.

Totally. I was going to post in the series thread that with so many people agreeing with Green's "40 minutes" and getting no push back, the TNT guys are the only ones with balls(I think Pat Bev would call that shit out too)

I refuse to watch their pregame or halftime shows. It’s an unbelievably terrible mix…although any of them alone is awful too.

the broadcast I only watch because I have to and it’s complete dogshit

Grant got completely fucked by refs. Agreed on Theis.
Grant is just not great from a matchup standpoint this series. I don’t think he should get benched, but he should probably be getting 10-15 mpg with Smart and White both in the upper 30s to low 40s and Theis not playing much, if at all.

On the other hand, I don’t hate Ime stealing a few minutes with Theis early in this series if that’s part of a plan to keep legs fresh (or get them fresher) for the second half of the series.

Draymond is a minus 6. When he’s on JB, I would position Brown in the weak side corner, and whenever Green helps, kick it to JB for open threes.

The one thing the shouldn’t do is drive at the grabby Green. Like Smart, he gets away with aggressively ball hawking.

Tatum 5-7 from 3, 2-9 from 2. Don't see that often. No shocked he's a -9.

Cs as a whole only hit 7 shots from 2 in the first half. 10 from 3.

Jaylen, Tatum, and White have taken all but 7 shots for the Cs.

Everyone asking Ime and the Celtics to target Green and get pissed off are totally misreading the situation. Green is the one trying to get into their heads. Celtics need to stay focused on playing with tempo and attacking and not getting caught up in refereeing or jawing with Dray. Stay focused and they win this game.

Celtics need to keep attacking the hoop offensively---look to the rim first and the pass-out second.

Defensively, the GS offense was pretty good. That shot quality stat reflects a lot of points in the paint---24, and a bunch of those were layups and dunks. The non-paint shot quality I bet was pretty marginal.

Ime needs to be in the refs coming out of halftime, that was an atrocious half from them.

What kills me about Draymond is that this is all by design.

He came into the game planning to mix it up. Foul. Antagonize.

He knows his shot is shit. He thinks he needs to compensate. To him, everything he’s doing is just him trying to win.

The fact the refs put up with it pisses me off.

Agreed. That is why I think you need to decide how you engage him and who can be physical with him---because we don't want to trade a good player for him. But happy to trade Theis or even Grant for him in this set of matchups
