MM, I hope you're right, but his continued attempts to play golf at the plate are mystifying. Does he need an eye-check?
IMO he has expanded his zone because he's trying too hard to make something happen. These guys are better off taking what the pitchers give them - and if they don't give anything - just take the walk.

I have tickets for the game but my flight got delayed. Can someone arrange a rain delay?
It has been POURING out here in W MA, but I can't promise you it won't pass through the Boston area before 7 pm.
You have probably already seen this forecast from NOAA.
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between 9pm and 10pm. Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Maybe you want to turn around and go home?

My moniker is in honor of Ellis Burks. He patrolled Fenway’s cavernous CF for many glorious years under the Ellis the Rim Man billboard. I had bleacher season tix for many of those years. Good Omen.

How did Mookie know to run? He was home almost immediately.

Nice take JD.

One thing I like about Cora is he'll mention players by name and what they've got to do. Like today, saying JD's swinging at sliders down and away.

That was JD's 50th AB in last season and this season where he went to 3-0. Still no strike outs. That was his 44th walk.

Edit: Sorry, that was his 51st AB in the last two seasons where he went to 3-0 during the at bat.
