More with the roster improvements from getting the proper guys up from Scranton in the pen like Tarpley today (Harvey next while optioning Holder, thanks), more with the A+ lineup like we’ll see tonight, and more with the winning. So it has been foretold, so shall it be.

Genuinely very excited to see this lineup in action, at long last, as if the artist’s masterpiece is complete. Hopefully it goes better than the game I saw at the old stadium 14 years ago today, a 10-3 slapping by the Mets and Tom Glavine, with the immortal Sean Henn starting in pinstripes that afternoon.

Lineup for tonight is:

1. DJL
2. Judge
3. Sanchez
4. Stanton
5. Voit
6. EE
7. Hicks
8. Torres
9. Urshela

Like I said in the other thread, say prayer for Clayton Richard.

This will be Green's first back to back this season, I guess they will have a quicker hook than usual there.

281 pitchers have 80+ batted balls against them this year, Clayton Richard has the highest average exit velocity allowed and highest hard-hit percentage of all 281.

Sometime just prior to last night's game Stroman was interviewed by The Athletic. I'm linking to quotes found at Deadspin because most of the relevant portions are behind their paywall. As Deadspin observes, Marcus ain't being very subtle about this.....Link

I think the hottest/most humid day in NY so far this summer, as if balls weren't flying enough yesterday.

They may break the single game record today for HRs.
If Toronto had a record 10 against Baltimore in 1987, it'd be fitting if the Yankees stole this from Toronto, no? Yankee record is 8, done twice, in 1939 (23-2!) and 2007.

Most on June 25th is 7, by the White Sox in 2016 against...Toronto.

Gio guns down Vladdy Jr. with a strong throw from behind third.

Nestor very sharp tonight. 3 shutout innings, 43 pitches, 29 strikes, 4 Ks.

Stanton out of game. Got spiked at third base by the pitcher on your basic 5-3-1 DP. Stanton saw third base uncovered but Richard got there in time.

Ok I was worried. A spiking ain’t too bad.

Hard to believe NY has only been able to score one since the opening HRs, strange game. I guess Ottavino in the 9th? He has pitched 3 of 4 days but he was off two days ago and just threw three (nasty) pitches last night.

Chapman had two days off before throwing 25 pitches last night, I think he'll be fine.

Also EE cares.
